Spider Harrison and Keith Bilbrey nominated to TN Radio Hall of Fame

Firepoint, That is old news. We knew this back in the spring. Spider told me himself. I have know Spider for almost 30 Years.

(sigh) Firepoint, The new major TV Networks have new shows that are lousy. The Big Bang Theory seems to be the "ONLY" thing funny TV on CBS these days. There is a good job for you! Why not go write and produce new shows for these TV Networks, especially ABC. ABC-TV in the last 10 years has gone to the dogs.

See, there is a job out there for you. I have a good friend that just retired from CBS and another friend at CBS. Send in your resume. This way you'll have something to do besides poking into these radio stations. I think Lew Dickey would be happy for you.

No, I didn't miss up 97.1. K-Love wanted a signal in this market, Cumulus wanted a signal down in Baton Rouge, LA., so the deal was done. There is a limit on how many stations a group owner can have in a market. Who cares what was played on 97.1 before the trade? Nobody.

This is the second time Spider has been nominated. He did not win last year. This is the first time for Keith, I believe. Don't hold me to that. I will ask him. This is the time of year the nominations come out. Voting starts next month. RQQ was a swap with/for WABB Mobile. The RQQ call letters are in Baton Rogue, but it wasn't part of that exact Nashville trade.

I met Bilbrey about seven years ago. My wife has known him since her childhood when they used to have the live morning show on channel 4. He and I are kindred spirits from both of us working overnights for many years. He knew where I was coming from.

I have never met Harrison, but heard him on WLAC from west Tennessee back when I lived there. Still listen to him on Hippie nowadays.

They both deserve to be voted in this year.

Fire - they are both exceptional people. Keith is as nice and gentle and warm as they get. Spider is about as unassuming and kind as anyone I know in radio. Neither have EGOs and that's refreshing. I also grew up listening to (and watching Keith) both of them. First time I was supposed to meet Spider, I spent hours avoiding having to talk to him not being sure what he would be like and know sure what to say. Huge mistake. Huge. I can't talk to him or cut up with him enough! Been that way ever sense. BTW, he just celebrated a birthday last week. I am sure Rebel sent him a card. I think you'll be at Fontenel?

Yeah, wife and I will be at Groovin' and Cruisin'. We are both BIG fans of the Wannabeatles, and know them personally. I told wifey (when I picked up the tix) that seeing the Wannabeatles (again--fifth time just this year, I think!) will have to be a consolation prize, as it looks like we WON'T be able to score tix to see Sir Paul next week. Bummer!

As always - CR - you are correct. 100%. When are you not? The only part of Baton Rogue that that deal touched was the RQQ calls being there. I wonder if they have cursed the station they are on.

They have if Come-in-last owns them!

Meanwhile, still trying to win those Paul tickets. I actually got through once "Yesterday" afternoon, but I was the wrong caller. Frustrating because I usually know the answers to the trivia questions!

Wannabeatles are doing a rooftop show downtown that afternoon. They still "wanna meet Paul," too!

Well Firepoint, If you love your wife as much as you say you do, then just buy the tickets (if available). We only have one chance in this world, so don't be cheap. Paul is getting on up there like the rest of us. One day he may stop preforming, and you missed your chance.

Joke's on you, troll. We have already seen him twice, and Ringo once. Go troll someplace else, troll. Did I mention that you are a troll? By the way, you have been reported to management of this board for your constant stalking and harassment of me. Both are in direct violation of the TOS of this board, of which you have been in violation ever since posting your very first message on here.
