Booger & Rich immediately "blew out the schedule" to provide coverage of the bombing, while Steve Duemig and whichever guy is currently on 1040 kept taking callers and talking about the Lightning and Rays for the entirety of the 3:00 hour.
CBS has a lot of resources in Boston... They went wall-to-wall in Pittsburgh on AM news talk KDKA, while 93.7 the Fan carried updates and talked about things like whether the Bruins game should be played.

I'm sure as much as cc4life loathes some of the hosts in this market, they wish he were packing a diary. Their TSL from him alone would be impressive.....
When the story broke, Duemig announced the initial breaking news and did follow-ups as they came in. Duemig mentioned the Rays hotel was in that area and then reported that the players were still at Fenway. DAE is a sports station and although this story has sport interest, a listener has the option of tuning to a news station or TV for coverage. Aside from the report of bombs going off there was nothing else to report. No suspect, no motive, nothing more than two bombs were detonated.

Begs the question, did 970 go wall to wall...if they didn't that might explain 98.7s reasons...also CBS may have given marching orders to its FM O and O's to simulcast Boston.
Sort of ... naturally, it was all that Schnitt was talking about during his 3-6 p.m. show. (The blasts happened at 2:50 and first news stories broke around 3, so it's not as if 'FLA stuck with Limbaugh and ignored breaking news.)
After that, though, I believe 970 went with Hannity on tape delay as usual at 6, with news updates at TOH and BOH. But I can't tell you for sure because I reflexively change stations at 6:06:30. (In this case, I switched to CNN on satellite.)
