SportsNet NY is on in most of eastern PA

SportsNet New York is now on all Blue Ridge Cable Systems in Northeastern and Central PA (Poconos areas, like Monroe, Pike counties) Service Electric Cable in Allentown and Easton areas along with Hunderton County and Sussex County New Jersey systems also picked up the channel. Patriot Media in Princton, Somerset, and Hunterdon also added the channel. DISH Network and Direc TV also offer the channel to some PA subscribers. YES network is already on in PA for Yankees fans. Sometimes it seems easier to see the Mets and Yankees than the Phillies in western NJ and eastern PA. (north of Trenton that is)

Here's a funny scenario...

Let's say SportsNet New York were carried in a part of Jersey where both the Philly and NYC stations are carried (I think it is, correct me if I'm wrong). On UPN/CW 57, the announcer announces an upcoming game between the Phillies and the Mets...

"For those of you in New Jersey who can't get Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, you can watch it on...grrrr....SportsNet New York. You know, that bastard affiliate that is owned by the New York Mets." *THUD*

I have Service Electric in Hunterdon County, NJ and it seems I still dont have Sportsnet NY yet. I am a Mets Fan. Where did you see or hear that SportsNet NY was added on Service Electric in Western New Jersey? I also doubt that SportsNet NY will be added on Service Electric in the Lehigh Valley because that is the Phillies Territory and I know for a fact that YES and MSG aren't on the Lehigh Valley System but are on the Phillipsburg and Hunterdon Systems. They never carried FSNY. I checked Blue Ridge's Website and It says SportsNet NY was added in the Poconos on CH. 82 but nothing on Service Electric's Website.

Just got my cable bill in the mail today and it says that SportsNet NY will be added on May 1st. In addition to that about 90 percent of the channels in the lineup will be moved to a new channel number to comply with new cable rules. So I have to get used of the new channel positions. It looks like they are grouping the channels in categories like locals, sports, news, entertainment, kids, etc.

Hunterdon and Sussex Counties in NJ are in NY DMA, and they are in the clear to get everything NY (PRO hockey, basketball and baseball)

Poconos, Monroe and Carbon County are in Scranton DMA, and that entire DMA gets NY, Philly and Pittsburgh (latter two) depending on the provider. I heard Pittsburgh Pirates games are in the clear with DirecTV's sports pack (w/o MLB EI) in Scranton, but I could be wrong.

It is interesting now that Allentown is getting SNY, and cable access to the Mets. However, I believe DirecTV subscribers with the Sports Pak, got FSNY, and according to directvsports.com - it listed Mets games, previously. But that was a limited number of subs, and not a wide exposure like a full basic cable deal. So, maybe that area is in Mets territory, but not territory for the NY hockey or NY basketball teams.

Princeton should be in territory for everything NY and Philly, but the providers aren't carrying everything. For example, they still don't get Phillies games. Interesting that Patriot Media is choosing SNY, but still not Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. Guess Princeton winds up pretty up NY territory.

In Southern NJ, if you have DirecTV's sports pack, you are in clear for Knicks and Rangers. Unusual but true.

And not too far south in Wilmington, Delaware, CCSN-MidAtlantic has a claim of that city and state.
