Apparently one of the 10 involved is going to tell all to the prosecution about how staffers discussed the Matthew Carrington water hazing death case in Chico, as well as the fact that they discussed how people can die from drinking too much water. So, they did know before hand, and they did it anyway. ??? Pretty foolish of them not to add that clause to the waiver, since they knew.
 
Just playing devil's advocate here: Is it not possible someone is upset they got fired and is retaliating, if what you say is true? Not trying to argue, just discussing that possibility.
 
Hang on...when we say PROSECUTION, do we mean the state prosecutor, or do we mean the plaintiffs in the civil case?

Also, whether they are retaliating or not, if they are one of the 10 fired, it's somewhat certain that they had something to do with it.

If not, Entercom fired the wrong people, and those who had anything to do with this are still employed there...which is problematic, to say the least.
 
I would say 4-5 of those 10 that were fired had either no knowledge of the contest before hand... or, had no power to stop it as they do not have a voice in what goes on the air. There are still, no doubt, people in that building that need to be fired.
 
Obviously if a Staffer plans to turn over evidence, then they aren't among the ten who were gone. Sounds like there's a mole on Madison.
 
Could be someone that wasn't directly involved or it could be someone looking to win favor with the court. It wouldn't be the first time someone turned witness to save their own skin. I guess we'll have to see who the person is and what their connection is to the case is.

It was one of the "fired 10." My guess, and remember it's just a guess because I don't work there, is it's the promotion director, producer, or one of the minor air staff players. The way I hear it is that all morning show promotions were the brainchild of Weed and the main morning team members. Crap, if I was a producer, promotions director, or lower level sidekick involved in this fiasco I'd probably do the same. Uh oh, I just opened the door for all the bashers, huh? Oh well, bring it on...

A rat is no better than the person who perpetrates. Because they knew ahead of time and did nothing.

Now, to save their own skin, they suddenly have a conscience? Had nothing gone awry, they'd have said nothing and been complicit. I have no sympathy, nor respect for the rat.

This whole thing has become a joke to a lot of you. You hurl insults and accusations at people whose lives have been forever ruined. It isn't just the family of the woman who have to live with this.

You attack people with no feeling for what they're dealing with. Put yourself in their shoes for a day and see how you'd like having a microphone jammed in your face, constantly reminding you of the worst day of your life. See if you like being called a killer when you did nothing but attempt to put on what you thought was an entertaining morning show. See if you like being under that microscope for a few hours.

This is a horrible thing. And nobody has any "evidence." This isn't the Scott Peterson case. It's the case of an unfortunate accidental death by misadventure.

And before you shoot back at me, consider that there's a dead woman, and dozens of people who are dealing with this on a level that we cannot possibly comprehend.

Let them have their peace for a while.
 
You know, Paul, I make no apologies for my sense of moral outrage here. It was a horrible, stupid thing that needs to be made right, as much as the legal system can.

But, you're right about one thing, Paul. This isn't the Scott Peterson case. Here we have a cause of death, witnesses, and everything is on tape.

Thank the world for Dead Elvis and SirRoxaLot, voices of reason. I'm sure none of the 10 want a murder charge to follow them around for the rest of their lives. It's going to be hard enough for all them to get another gig as it is, and I'm sure the person talking wants to get this behind them asap.
 
It won't be a murder charge--this wasn't intentional or premeditated.

It's, at most, manslaughter, and probably a lesser charge than that.

If anything. I'm not sure there will be anything out of this, criminally.

Paul, I wasn't making light of the situation by calling out the rat. I think if you made a choice as a group, you face the consequences as a group. The PD approved the stunt, so he is as responsible as the Morning Show. If the informant is a member of the morning team, why didn't they go to the GM or a regional manager if they were that against it? Or how about taking a sick day that day? They made a choice to be there and participate.

The same choice to have gone to management applies to the promotions staff, too. If they objected, they could have gone over someones head to stop it.

If you made the choice to do nothing becasue you thought nothing would happen, you deserve to pay the price. If you sell out your team, you are a rat.

I didn't think you were. Apologies if you perceived my post that way. Tough to interpret intent, or tone-of-voice via text.

I do think ratting is weak. Guess it comes from upbringing. Come as a crew...go as a crew. If you knew it was wrong, and did nothing at the time, you're culpable.
