State of Lebanon-Rutland Radio

WWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! I am BACK after being down on the farm for a long time. Chester the Cow just gave birth to two new calves yesterday. OOOOOHHHH what cuties! I can't wait until we get to grind 'em up and make them into beef patties! Anyways...I've been listening to radio in the big ol market of Lebanon-Rutland (soon to be ONLY Lebanon-Claremont in the Fall when Rutland County gets ELIMINATED from the herd) and here is my synopsis. Take it like it is...this is just an opinion...well...mine AND Bessie's opinion!!!
----------------------------------------------------

Best Stations in the Market...

92-3 GXL (most improved station in the market over the years)...Z97.1 (perrenial #1)...WFRD (KEEPS MY COWS ROCKIN!!!)

ALMOST...ALMOST...there...

KIXX (Seems stable for the first time in years)...WJJR (Except for the morning show...BLAH)

Needs Some Work...
KOOL (Giving it time)...Q106 (Do people still listen to IMUS??)...WOLF (HELLO??? Is anyone there LIVE anymore?? Traci & Paul sound more boxed than Seacrest)...WJEN (This station killed two of my pigs last week. WHY??? Put them all to sleep and they wouldn't wake back up!!)

GIVE IT UP!!!
WNTK
WYKR
WSYB

---------------------------------------------------------

That is my contribution to todays radio scene...courtesy of all of us at Thousand Acres Farm in Woodstock!

Now what do you think this market will look like in ranking when it becomes just Lebanon-Claremont?? I'm thinking the boys from Rutland are going to be crying in their soup!!

I don't think the Rutland stations take advantage of their signal strength nearly enough.

WJJR needs retooling in all dayparts.... the afternoon guy sounds like he should be on a classic rock or classic hits station. The middayer sounds like a great newsreader... terrible DJ and they need to bring Bob and Sheri back.

I can't believe WSYB can be profitable. It is just one big PSA after another.

Another station that should give it up.... WCFR. Was a great local station serving Springfield and Claremont... now is nothing more than voice tracking and syndication.

I just wish they'd bring back K105 The Mountain. Good times.

It's no fun talking about Rutland radio without our good friends, "Arnold Poon" and the mad professor, "Mr. Marbles".. ;D

Uh, yeah. A hot AC with John Tesh in PM drive. If that's an improvement I'd hate to have heard it before.

Well seeing that WGXL ran away with the Female demo in the Spring book with Tesh having the highest numbers of all dayparts...looks like its doing what it needs to do ;D

Imus is HORRID on WHDQ...I believe they are the only FM in the country that runs his show and I don't know why, I don't even flip over to that signal until after 10am. Playlist is soooo stale...they are running a lot of songs thats running on Kool. Why isn't the Morning Buzz on Q instead of Kool? Doesn't make sense...Wolf has zero live talent on the air...Kixx can definitely make some dents in the Wolf numbers.
