Stations that rarely play few Beatles records on a classic hits/oldies station

Today while I was checking on the KKLZ music log for Sunday, there wasn't mention of one Beatles song on the playlist, except that they may rarely play one or two, like Hey Jude, Here Comes the Sun & Let It Be. That's pretty unusual for an oldies/classic hits station, & their predecessor oldies station in Vegas, played lots of Beatles records. Even Kool 102 in Vegas plays lots of Beatles as well. Is there any station throughout the country that rarely plays the Beatles on a local oldies station, huh?

I think that any oldies / CH station avoiding the Beatles is a foolish thing to do. 3 songs per day from their 1964-1970 days would be fine. Of course there are stations that just overkill the Beatles. Not playing the Beatles from the 60's (British Invasion), would be like not playing Donna Summer from the 70's (Disco).

Now if a station is eliminating the 60's all-together and sticking with mid 70's and 80's only, then that's another unfortunate matter.

Keep in mind that their predecessor oldies station (wasn't it at 93.1?) was quite a while ago, when the format was much more 60s-friendly.

A quick skim of the KKLZ playlist looks like they've moved away quite a bit from the 60s (at least compared to Clear Channel), so I guess it would be natural that they move away from The Beatles as they pretty much defined that era. However, I'd expect their music be some of the higher testing 60s songs in 2012, so if you're still playing any 60s (which KKLZ is), I'd think they definitely still have a place.

Yup, that's probably what's happening. It's that age 55+ thing. We '50s music fans went through that about 10 years ago. Like us, '60s music fans will have to bite the bullet and discover satellite or internet radio.
