WDWD (990) in Dawson went off the air in the mid-90s and at that time the calls were WHIA. It's sister station WAZE-FM (92.1) went off at the same time. Eventually the license went back to the FCC. Even the building is gone now. I'm a Dawson native and got my start in radio there in 1979.
