Where is the station now? Albany? Have an 80-year old woman wanting to know, because she used to sing on the station daily.

WDWD used to be licensed to Dawson, Ga. According to the FCC database there is no AM assigned to Dawson any longer. Guess it went dark?

You could click on the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame banner (above), and send them a question.
They would know.

WDWD (990) in Dawson went off the air in the mid-90s and at that time the calls were WHIA. It's sister station WAZE-FM (92.1) went off at the same time. Eventually the license went back to the FCC. Even the building is gone now. I'm a Dawson native and got my start in radio there in 1979.
