Steve Kass and the other phonies of talk radio

READ this from the Sunday Providence Journal.

http://www.projo.com/news/stategovernment/content/KASS_STORY_07-25-10_E6J44JT_v143.37d056e.html

Steve Kass and the many other talk radio hosts who rail against wasteful government spending, neglect this big weekend story. Now in fairness, I did hear Dan Yorke tip toe around it, couching his words carefully as he approached the noon news. Then it seemed, management waved him off the topic, because they dare not question one of their own. At 12:06PM new topic with Dan. Although Steve Kass hated cronyism, now he's a part of it. But you see the RI Governor and Mr. Kass are friends of the station. You see WPRO is just not fair. Yes, Steve is a very nice guy. But he is a phony and so are the announcers at WPRO for not calling the administration and Mr. Kass out on this.

I can't wait to hear the night guy avoid this story. Matt Allen has some sort of "man crush" on Kass. He may even spin the story as to as to suggest RI is so much more safe now because of Steve Kass. Those great press relases he copies and those fantastic safety whistles he hands out, keeps Rhoder's out of harms way.

If you dish it out WPRO, do so evenly. Even when it's one of your friends. You have assulted many others for doing far less.

I heard most of Helen's program, I do not think she discussed the topic.

I never liked Kass, phoney, arrogant, sarcastic person.

What incentive does WPRO have to behave as you, or I, or anyone else may like?

Fact is....they don't NEED to. They maintain a strangle-hold, and virtual monopoly on talk radio in this town.

Where else are we going to go?....Helen Glover?....one of the Boston talkers?

Sad state of affairs.....isn't it?

Not really. The medium's a game, certainly not reality-based. I've never listened to Cass but I'm aware of him as a broadcaster. He is what he is. A phony, I don't think so.

He's a "hall-of-famer" but not in the strictest sense. More of a standard self-promoting talk guy that's just working an audience. Maybe that's what his 70-81k job entails now too, I don't know.
As for the others not commenting I would be surprised if they did.

Tony, who in broadcast media (save a very few) isn't? There is something behind this story....I think there is something more to follow....

We live in a world of phonies. People attack goverment until the goverment gives them a paycheck. Now all is well. The human mind fascinates me. Give your worst enemy a bunch of money and they'll suddenly become your best friend. The power of Ben Franklin in your hand never ceases to amaze me.
