NEWSMAX, the conservative news and opinion organization, has inked former WOR-A and WABC-A/NEW YORK personality STEVE MALZBERG to host a daily show for radio syndication as well as online video streaming. The new show, the first for which NEWSMAX MEDIA LLC says will be a free 24/7 live streaming channel, begins FEBRUARY 4th and will air 3-6p (ET) weekdays.

excelent day to anounce the launch day of/after the biggest blow torch of conservative talk radio has its lowest showing in history. Certainly puts them in
1. a great position (nowhere to go but up)
or 2. the last aborad a sinking ship.

Most of the shows aren't conservative anymore in NY, so just because the ratings are low doesn't mean it's due to conservative talk radio.

I'm pretty sure that the majority of weekday programming minus coast to coast on wabc is still conservative talk--even Imis seems to have moved to the right

Look...the man needs work. Sorry that Steve took the leap from Sports to Politics...he might have a easier time finding a job now if he hadn't.

Then why does he put himself in positions where he'll find himself out of work. The move from WABC to WWRL was - in a word - boneheaded. His claims that he had higher ratings than Hannity proved to be - to be kind - bogus. He finally had a chance to go back to sports doing updates on the FAN, but, for reasons I don't know, didn't stick. Unfortunately for him (and I certainly wish him no ill will) he'll be pounding the bricks in a few months again, as his listeners will be negligible on this website (although we'll certainly see a press release announcing how he has the highest ratings in the history of Newsmax...or the internet...or something). Maybe he should drop the grating, annoying, whining attitude he constantly has and just try to communicate and relate to the audience. I thought he was fairly good at doing that when he did sports.

having worked at an agency when Steve was at WOR, I can tell you he did in fact beat Hannity with Men and Women at least three or four months in a row in 2011 (or was it 2010?) 25-54 and 12+. I was perplexed when WOR let him go. If this online company also puts the show on radio, I think Malzberg could be in a position to do well.
