Stockton Listeners Mad At Loss Of KOSO to New Sacramento 93.1

I have heard that there are many B-93.1 listeners in the Stockton area that are a bit peeved at the way CC downgraded KOSO to Class A 92.9 and the new station currently on 93.1. Today there is an All Day ARMSTRONG & GETTY Talk Show Marathon. Yesterday They played Alternative Rock and now Talk. CC seems to be trying a Format Of The Day Stunt until the Real McCoy Format starts.

Stockton always seems to get the short end of the stick

But, Stockton is Someplace Special.
Actually Stockton WAS Someplace Special.Today, Stockton has one of the highest home foreclosures, highest crime rates, one of the most violent cities, high rents (due to bay area commuters moving here), etc. Need I Say More? ;-)

Remember some of the positives like the downtown / waterfront revitalization.

Positives? City Council signing an exclusive lease with Paragary's for the Hotel Stockton (same site as the studios of KJOY), which included million dollar incentives like Free Rent? In the end, That isn't enough to save Paragary's, as they announced that it is for sale. But now I am getting off subject.

I listened to the new 93.1 on and off yesterday...and unless you're a fan of the news talk format...then its a good thing. But I like music in between the talk, and I thought it was just irritating.

What exactly is the format? Is it Talk? Is it music? Have they made a decision yet?

They have been stunting. Some say that there is a launch party late today. Maybe it is to kick off whatever their format will be.

I know of at least 6 Co-workers who are peeved at the loss of KOSO. I know that some say that they have access to similar stations like KGBY- MY 92.5, KLLC-ALICE @ 97.3 and KZZO-100.5 THE ZONE, but what they miss is more than the HOT/MODERN AC that KOSO was playing but the DJ's who played them like CRUISE & GOOD in the Mornings, DAVE MAZZY and JOHN CHIMPO. They tell me that if it was just for the music, They would be listening to their Ipod's at Work and Satellite Radio in their cars. They are also peeved that it wasn't mentioned on the air that certain areas would lose the signal, only that KOSO was moving to 92.9 only. And I am sure there is even more people than my co-workers who are peeved!

I don't know what the demo numbers for Stockton look like, but if KOSO beat KQOD in 18 - 49 and held their own in 25 - 54, perhaps CC should simulcast B92.9 on KQOD's signal and sell it seperately. Does anyone have any rating insight?

I just looked at the 12+ numbers and I guess this scenerio is unlikely.
