Straight Radio Station Owner Energizes Gay Media Market

I'll stand by my statement. Research budgets are down across the board but Energy is not out-researching the majority of the radio stations in San Francisco.

Any evidence to back that up?

I didn't think so.

All I have to say is this guy is a really smart business man, especially knowing that San Francisco has the largest gay population in the country.

And BTW, I thought this area was more liberal. Unless I am mistaken.

Back up what? That research budgets are down? Ok, I'm assuming most stations have less to spend in that area than they might have a few years ago. It's an observation based on personal experience. Can KNGY be spending more on research than "than virtually all of their corporate competitors" - more than ABC, CBS, Entercom, Cumulus, Clear Channel stations? Again, I have some personal knowledge and enough contact with budget setters in the market to venture a pretty good guess. But, for the sake of getting beyond this point, I'll revise my original stance. I'll agree that KNGY is outspending their direct competition. In today's trend KNGY is #32 with adults. I'm certain that they're outspending #31 KUIC-FM and #33 KIQI in music research.

What does "liberal" have to do with this discussion?
