Sunny 104.5 WSNI and WJJZ 106.1 FM has left the airwaves as of Noon EDT. What was the final songs on the 2 stations, what was the first song on 106.1/104.5 FM? The new station is called "Philly 106.1" and Philly's 106.1 also will get comedian Whoopi Goldberg's new syndicated weekday morning show. It starts at 5 a.m. Monday. 106.1 signal will be simulcast on 104.5 for the time being. Any Thoughts on the change and what the 2 stations are doing on-air now so be posted IN THIS THREAD. BTW please post the audio of the format changes on the board ASAP. Thanks

Even tho its in other threads and you're tooo lazy to look....

Last song on JJZ was Daryl Hall remaking his "She's Gone"

Last song on SNI was Elton John "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me"

JJZ and SNI are now simulcasting, sort of. SNI is about 30 seconds ahead of JJZs feed

Final Song on 106.1 was "She's Gone"
First song was "Let's Get it Started" followed by "Too Unlimited", "Wanna be Startin Something", "Get into the Groove" and "Gettin jiggy wit it.."

Image liner/sweeper - "it's like happy hour on your radio...the new Philly 106.1 FM feel the energy..."

Julius: I thought you were rolling tape on the two stations? That's what you said in another thread yesterday. So, you should be able to tell us what was on the air before the format change. I'm interested myself in what was on the stations before and after the changeover.

I'm sure other contributors will post their thoughts in this thread (as you demanded) if they choose to. It's not up to you to demand what other contributors do on this board.

Concering the format changes, what does you think? Why or why not?

I was shocked to hear of format changes on two stations at the same time like that. It's very unusual. I was surprised that Clear Channel kept the jazz format on 106.1 as long as they did...considering 104.5 changed quite a bit over recent years.

Rob: Basically, WJJZ is airing WSNI's signal for the time being? So, in short, there is no more jazz on WJJZ?

Actually, the other way around, Shawn. JJZ is being fed over 104.5. I guess they're trying to get the former SNI female demo to sample 106.1.

No Spanish now (or yet) on 104.5

For what it's worth, I'm not hearing the new format on the webstream being offered up out of the new "Philly's 106.1" site. It sounds like the old smooth jazz format to me...perhaps even fill music for local commercial breaks.

I did roll tape on both stations today.
