SUNNY AND WJJZ AIRSTAFF GONE, FORMAT FLIP ON THURSDAY

Since Terri Webb left, the writing was on the wall. As for 104.5, no big deal...Donna Rowland could find a job.
Don't be so confident. Speaking from experience, a jock could go months or even a year before finding a new opportunity. If you are able to relocate then your opportunities increase. However, if you desire to provide stability for your family and choose not to move, you will have to be patient. And you might even have to take a job outside of radio if you can convince an employer that you DO possess transferable skills. When or if you land another radio gig it might not be exactly what you were looking for but, hey, it's a job. With so many stations going jockless, some enterprising guy/gal out there should start a service to help jocks transition from radio to the "real" world.

Margo Marano hosts the “Sunny 70s at 7” weeknights at 7:00 PM on 104.5 FM. Listen to the station at that time tonight to hear if they are still doing that. If not, something is up for real.

Julius: I'm glad to hear that you will be monitoring the stations yourself, via "tape delay" so to speak. Please let us know your findings. In my opinion, it's easier for you to monitor the stations yourself instead of asking others to do it.

Also, I doubt that ESPN Radio will move to an FM station in the Philadelphia market. I'm afraid that you're stuck with listening to Jim Rome and others on 920 AM out of Trenton. Of course, you can get J.T. The Dick (I mean...Brick) and Fox Sports Radio on 950 AM. How come you're not satisfied with one of the two nationally syndicated sports networks on WPEN?
I think that ESPN radio is better than FOX sports radio because they have the national play by play sports, something we can't hear on 920 AM WPHY because of their signal in Philadelphia south and east. That is the problem, the station has a poor signal and thus we can't hear it. The Philly stations that don't air the play by play winds up on 920 AM. I hope that Nassau will do something and finally be a Philly sports station with a Philly signal. I will not rest until this play by play thing is solved in Philadelphia Radio. Anyway back to the topic at hand, what's the latest update. if you went to the WJJZ/WSNI studios today, is anyone doing some last minute things to the boards and computers at the 2 stations in Bala Cynwyd ?

Give it a rest

JJZ = Rhythmic AC?
SNI - Spanish Tropical?

If this is the case....ready the format wheel for this time next year as both stations will be miserable failures.

What times is the supposed format changes will happen and what days?

do a yahoo search for sunny 104.5 radio, and you'll see some url's for alice104.5, tht brings you to Sunny's website. Hard rock like in San Francisco?

Not the same, but this smells of CBS-fm in New York going to JACK.

How about 104.5 getting a format similar to Clear Channels "Blue Monkey Saloon" ? According to the link in the Format Lab section of their website it's a mix of new and classic rock. Just an idea.

WJJZ and WSNI likely flipping and offering more bland radio! (I guess the only hope for radio is better programming in the future on HD, satellite and internet. )

What times and days the format changes are supposed to happen on the 2 stations?

Today I think, but when, I don't no. There are not specific times for a format change, it could be anytime from now on.

Nice to see you guys still miss/obsess over me. Too bad I don't do the same...

Hardly Rob. I was just trying to get you some extra sleep, seeing that the flips were almost 16 hours away.

My favorite part of a flip is the stunting. It's always interesting to see how they choose to do it. One of the last major stunts in town led to a full-time character/host on 96.5 with Rocco the Janitor.

I suggest to everyone to start recording 104.5 FM and 106.1 FM right now on the computer or on the radio.

Rob, why you will the rhythmic ac that goes after the most desired demos with the music they actually want to hear be a failure? Is it because you don't like it?
