Surprise: Seattle Socialist at event knows of colleague interviewed by WRKO/Diamond

Just some trivia...

I was at a "liberal event" in Seattle this weekend and asked a member at the table of the Socialist Workers party if he knew that a colleague had been interviewed by Jay Diamond WRKO/Boston earlier this year.

***I was VERY surprised when he smiled and answered *YES!*** I was unsure if he knew if it was specifically WRKO/Boston, or, just some large major market station. The main point was of course that he knew about a radio interview from their organization thousands of miles away. Interesting since most politicval activists 18-29 don't know anything about talk radio!

Anyway...I guess their organization is connected, and they know when one of their members is inteviewed by a veteran major market talk coast, even on the ***OPPOSITE*** coast!!!

Questions on Jay Diamond show:

@What will happen to Jay's show with WRKO sporting events???

@@Does Jay ever substitute for any WRKO weekday hosts???

@@@Why does WRKO not broadcast Jay on both Sat and Sunday?

WRKO doesn't broadcast more Jay Diamond because they are afraid of the right wing wackos who only want to hear Deutchland Uberalis.

Wake up, would ya Parklane? The format is conservative talk radio. How many times do they have right wingers filling in for Al Franken? How many rightwingers does Air America put on over the weekend?

Re: Surprise: Seattle Socialist at event knows of colleague interviewed by WRKO/Diamond

Jay deserves as much air time as WRKO can give him...period. Tom, on the providence board, I was suggesting Jay as a morning host..to give WHJJ a local morning host..that has worked for KPOJ and KKZN and others .....again the credit for pulling that together goes to TomBetz..but I agree with his findings...

How would you think WHJJ would do with Jay, Arlene, Al Franken, Randi, Springer, and Malloy. Thats an awesome lineup if Jay could do mornings.....I would think he can....maybe a sidekick? I think he would also do very well in any timeslot for WRKO...if they got Burns to come back...that would be cool as well.

Yes indeed...that is a great lineup. Would Diamond need a co-host, since the current U.S. President is the sidekick when G.W. is imitated, right? lol

I think Jay Diamond is one of the best candidates for an AAR affiliate local morning show. As you said, KKZN has Jay Marvin, KPOJ has Hartmann, K---/Detroit has Nancy Skinner, K---/Phoenix has Charles G_________, etc.

I think he would also do very well
