Syndicated Shows That Either Are No Longer On, or Are Now Only On Part Time

Here I am listening to John and Jeff right as I post and it got me wondering about shows that have either are no longer in Boston or are now only part time instead.

Here are a few that I can think of:

  • Tom Martino - The Troubleshooter
  • Clark Howard
  • Kim Kommando
  • Bernie Ward (ok, he is now in jail because of child pornography)
  • Laura Schlessinger

Just to name a few.

O'Reilly, Hannity, and the various Salem shows (M. Gallagher, D. Praeger, M. Medved, H. Hewitt),
the prog talk shows (T. Hartmann, Steph Miller, Ed Schulz, Randi Rhodes)

Yeah, those ones too, although Stephanie Miller was on WRKO at one point in the late 90's or early 2000's was it?

BTW, the Salem hosts can still be heared on the weekends on WEZE and WROL as well when they do the pre-recorded "Town Hall - Weekend Edition" too.

Yes and she was on WKOX/WXKS but I'm talking hosts that "are no longer on" in town. Her days at
WRKO was when ABC syndicated her and she did the show from KABC. A weird situation for awhile
when KABC dropped her and she was still doing the show from there (or some other studio) and could
be heard elsewhere but not in L.A. As for the others, previous stations:

Hannity: WRKO, WTKK, WAMG, WTTT
Salem hosts: WTTT
O'Reilly: WTKK
Prog talk shows: 1200 & 1430.

I just remembered, Dave Ramsey, I could be wrong but wasn't he on WRKO at one time before WTTT?
Ramsey is currently on WBNW 1120 in the early morning as well as in the evening. I would not be surprised if his total air time on the station were as much as five hours a day. I suspect that none of this is live but that all of it airs on WBNW at the time it comes down from the bird as syndicated by the Business Talk Network.

A bit of advice. You don't want to listen to Brother Stair. I thought he was in jail.

believe me... I don't... sometimes the radio is left on 1510 from the morning show and I quickly switch it. That voice is like nails across a chalkboard, anyway. All I can think is Tom Carvel's commercials.

Some syndicated music shows...

"Little Walter's Time Machine" - was live and local in Boston for many decades, but was also nationally syndicated to up to a couple of dozen stations for a while a few years ago. It's now just streaming from his website.

Dr. Demento.

"Flashback" with Bill St. James recently disappeared from Sunday mornings on WROR (it can still be heard - faintly - from 96.5 WMLL "The Mill" Manchester, NH).

"The Deep End" with Nick Michaels was briefly on WBOS Saturday mornings a few years ago. (I think that one is also still on "The Mill").

Dr. Dean Edell has been one of my favorites for over 20 years. The man can explain medical issues with we, the lay public, like no other. Entertaining, informative, and his sense of humour is refreshing.

Outside of weekends, I've never heard him in the Boston market. Pity.

WAQY Rock 102 in Springfield still plays Flashback Sunday mornings.
Dr. Dean used to be all over Rhode Island AM talk.
Paul Harvey?! Yikes, no thanks

Dr. Laura is on WROL 950 AM weekday mornings from 5AM-6AM.
These shows can be heard on either Providence's WPRO 630 or WHJJ 920 - which are available in the Boston area with a good radio:

On WPRO:

Dr. Dean Adell is on weekends.
Paul Harvey is on at 9:45 AM, 1:45PM, and 7:30 PM weekdays, and 11:45 AM Saturday.

On WHJJ:

Glenn Beck weekdays 10-12 AM.
Sean Hannity weekdays 3-6 PM.
Bill O'Reilly weeknights 8-10 PM.
Jim Bohannon weeknights 10-12 PM.
Clark Howard is on WHJJ Sunday nights 8-10 PM.
Monica Crowley on 6-8 PM Saturday nights.

I can't believe someone listens to John and Jeff! That should be in the news. I liked Phil Hendrie better when he was on 10-1 on 810AM out of Albany or Rochester, I forget. The only other show I miss is the Fabulous Sports Babe.... well maybe that's a stretch.

Mule
