T-Minus 49 hrs and counting til the end of the "music season"

My dream for next year is on Oct 31 at 11:57 PM we hear Monster Mash followed by a station ID, Followed by the booming voice of Andy Williams singing
Happy Holidays
You should be used to this by now, countdowns only make it worse.

Nah, if it doesn't end at midnight, it'll end first shift tomorrow morning, THANK FREAKING GOD!!

I have to say, the over extended period of music really does take away from the nostialgic goal of it. Hearing the music today was almost boring from what it should be, and that's sad. I hope this type of formating gets a second look and is corrected (at least until after thanksgiving).

103.9 WKPE down the Cape just flipped to Country at Midnight as "Cape Country 104." There was a professionally sung jingle, so I doubt it's just temporary.

Why bother? The 50,000 watts of Country from WCTK/98.1 in New Bedford covers the Cape like a glove. Oldies would make more sense. 102.3/WGTX still does not cover the entire Cape. And now with 102.5 doing the 10db. IBOC increase stuff, "Dunes 102" (a nice little station) will really be hurt by this.

How would you like THIS GUY spinning your country records:

I'd rather buy a Dell computer from him than hear a Toby Keith song from him!

Ah. well I like country and I'm heading to the Cape tomorrow so I'll check it out (if not before then on
the computer). No word yet as to whether this development means that the Kennedy Compound in
Hyannisport will be re-named the Circle K Ranch. Country takes Olde Cape Cod by storm, eh? :)

It can't end fast enough for me. I've been using my wife's car for the last week while she is on vacation with the kids and there are no non-kids CDs in the car. I keep forgetting to grab some stuff. So, I'm stuck zipping through scan for an hour trying to find something worth listening to ... as much as I love Christmas music, it's time to shut it off already.

I pretty much didn't listen to WROR or WODS though I did hear the occasional song, often irreverent,
on Mike 93.7. On my own WMWM blues show I tossed in the occasional Christmas song but mostly
did other stuff. Last night while driving I heard WMWM, this time on automation, doing all Christmas/holiday
and it varied from BB King to the Jingle Cats to new age. It was OK, and appropriate for Christmas Day.
But yeah it's over for me. I wouldn't have even listened to that last night, but I was sparing myself
Christmas music as much as possible till the week itself.

A promo we've been running starts off with "Grandma Got Run Over" then shifts to the NOT THIS RECORD!
bit from Monty Python, and we point out that we play DIFFERENT Christmas stuff.
I think our automation will fire up a few more Christmas tunes from now till New Years Eve.

I looked at the music folder of our computer and found we had stuff like Christmas novelty songs,
BB King, Roomful of Blues, Ray Charles, and other Christmas selections. I even played Otis Redding's
"Merry Christmas Baby" from the folder last Sunday.

Last out, first in :

Oldies 103: 6am-Step Into C-Elton to Supremes Itching in my heart.

WROR : 5am-Holly Jolly- B.Ives to Sebastian,Welcome back
