Re: T102/Pottsville, PA... kind of like a \
Anyone hear the break on Monday's morning show about Courtney Love's New Years resolutions? I did not hear the bit, a co-worker of mine told me about it. Here's a micro-sample of what they're all about. Going over a list of Courtney's resolutions, the anchor (I won't mention names) says, "Courtney Love wants to start "High PO Therapy" (spelled as he said it). The co-host, who's IQ appears to be about 5 points higher says, "I think you mean "Hip NO Therapy" (also spelled as prounounced). At which time the first guy mutters, "Oh is that how you say that?" and then gets real quiet and wraps up the break. It wasn't meant to be funny. Now, everyone makes mistakes and it's not a crime to not know how to pronounce words. But it is a crime to not pre-read your material, not to ask someone beforehand, and OMG imagine, not using the material. Is THIS what you expect from your morning show host? If you're working mornings and you've been at it for 15 years or more, you should know these things. This is exactly what I'm talking about when I criticize those in charge at that station and their unwillingness to make the station sound better. This doesn't cost any money, you don't need to hire a consultant for it. You just need a person with the knowledge, (which they do have...just not in morning drive) a willingness to teach, (don't have), and jocks who will listen (half of which they don't have).
BTW, alternatives to the mighty T are much more extensive, and include watching paint dry and having your fingernails pulled with pliers among others.
