Talk veteran David Gold- KLIF Dallas- subbing in Tampa

Why? It's about some local yokel who wasn't good enough to make it to syndicate so he's still stuck in the minor leagues doing local radio. I'll bet the folks in Tampa are thrilled to hear his stories about Dallas.

So Dallas - like the 5th largest radio market - is full of yokels?

So legendary Bob Grant is some hack, right?
And Larry Elder, too?

Both shows failed miserably in syndication.

Other greats whose shows weren't gigantic successes include the above-average Ken Hamblin, Gill Gross, and Jack Ellery.

All of those hosts made for compelling radio that really connected with listeners, as compared to the Hannity and Limbo-wanabees that read political party talking points and have little patience with opposing views or real dialogue.

But they're all hacks as well, right?

They're all "local yokels" as well?

Interesting logic. I'm suprised no one has sued you for using that fictitious name for false advertising.

So Dallas is in the "minor leagues?"

Dittos for Houston, DC, San Fran, LA, CHicago, NY, BOS, Atlanta, et. al?

Here's a little more about David Gold you in your all-knowing wisdom may not know..
(I realize you don't know much about population and the importance of radio markets).

...Along with his friend Kevin McCarthy (radio), Gold was one of the top hosts at KLIF, the first full-time talk radio station in the fith biggest U.S. radio market. Unusual for a radio station, the station became prominent in the city's mediascape. Its hosts were often quoted in local media and amongst local politicians [1]. Gold was a staple at KLIF, where he ruled the afternoon "drive time" show from 1986-1997.

One Dallas publication described Gold's influence in Dallas media:
“ Best known was David Gold, the 3 p.m.-to-6 p.m. local Limbaugh before Limbaugh was cool, a huge talent who infuriated and captivated, such as in his first week when he suggested putting all death row inmates in the Texas Stadium end zone, wiring them, then frying them."

Gold hosts an afternoon show at KSFO (AM) in San Francisco. His voice has often been heard as a fill-in host at stations in markets such as Tampa and Seattle.

Gold has been asked to present his opinion as a guest on numerous programs including Nightline, Crossfire and Good Morning America.

So I guess Nightline, of all shows, wants "nobodys" and "local yokels" on its program?

I think your screen name is at best a big fib.

This is not David Gold's first time in the
St. Petersburg/Tampa market; back in the late 70's he was on 1250- (call letters WDAE then) as a night time talk show host,on a station that was music the rest of the day; then in the early 1980's I heard him on WGBS- 710 in Miami.

I liked him then, don't know if I still would or not; what station is he subbing on?
