Tampa Ratings July 2025 - US 103.5 Powers Into The Top 3

QYK was the 3rd ranked station in June, but US 103.5 now claims that spot moving up a full rating point.

With the exception of Playa, ALL of Beasley's stations are trending down... could they sell their stations in this market next? One wonders... Playa is up almost a full ratings point, by the way...

And WDUV, which is now all-Alanis all the time, reclaimed the top spot ahead of Joy.

At the behest of @RMarino I will refrain from referring to that low-rated Sarasota station...

They moved up by a share point. A rating point is about 1/15th to 1/20th of a share point.
And WDUV, which is now all-Alanis all the time, reclaimed the top spot ahead of Joy.
Remember, to ad buyers who use Nielsen, most of those stations have the same "rating" even if they wobble around by up to a full share point. Changes of a couple of rank positions may make the staff feel good... or bad... but most are due to the margins of error that are acceptable in a panel survey such as the Nielsen PPM.

Maybe Cox should have programmed The Vibe as a Rhythmic AC instead of a full blown Urban AC. It kinda started out that way, and the numbers were better.

It is odd how 101.5 The Vibe WTBV has fallen after such a good debut. Should it be Rhythmic AC instead of Urban AC as RMarino suggests?

Cox has big success with the format in two other Florida markets, Miami where WHQT Hot 105 is tied for #2. And Orlando where Star 94.5 WCFB is #1. Cox carries the Ricky Smiley Show in morning drive on all three stations. I guess Tampa is a tougher market to crack.

As has been said many times on this board, the demographics in Tampa Bay are very different than in Miami and Orlando. Urban AC is not gonna draw huge 6+ overall numbers. The station is programmed to a specific demographic and if they're hitting the marks with that target and ad sales are good, that's good business. I would guess that internally and on paper, the frequency is billing better than it was as hit music Hot 101.5.
