In its first full monthly following its flip, Cox Adult R&B “101.5 The Vibe” WTBV-FM rises 2.5 to 2.8. The loss of Hot 101.5 has not helped iHeartMedia CHR 93.3 WFLZ as it slides 3.3 – 2.9 – 2.6 – 2.3 matching the format record low it set in January.

iHeartMedia Hip Hop “95.7 The Beat” WBTP is hurt by the launch of The Vibe as it trends down 2.5 – 1.8 – 1.6 as Huff notes that is the lowest share on the frequency since Fall 1978.

This would appear to show that Hot’s listeners went to Wild. Hot 101.5’s audience was probably made up of people who disliked FLZ in the first place. So instead of going back there, they flipped to Wild.
 
Maybe Tampa can't support two mainstream Top 40 CHR stations. But surely it can support one.

The format is having a hard time in some places. But in others, it's fine. Z100 NYC #4, KIIS LA #6, KMVQ San Francisco #4, WXKS Boston #5.
 
To me I noticed FLZ went ad free as 101.5 went off. Did not last of course and now I believe they are playing more commercials than ever.
If the think the listener base will accept this the are dead wrong and its shows now.

They still play on average 12 songs an hour (outside of AMD), which indicates that their spotload isn't excessive.
 
And Country, the new Pop, is the battle for the top. For two books now QYK is officially trading blows with FUS.

Beat should not go on. FLZ is a shell of its former self. When the Shark is trending better, ouch.

FLA meanwhile holding strong with AM + translators.

Something's gotta give. And Christmas time is just around the corner.

The Shark has been playing a lot more classic rock outside of the metal/hard rock from the 80s and 90s since earlier this year, I've noticed. They are also playing artists like Steely Dan and The Allman Brothers that the Eagle normally does not play.
 
Wild is Rhythmic CHR so maybe they liked Hot’s rhythmic lean and didn’t like that WFLC didn’t do that. It is possible that despite these high ratings they could go CHR with a rhythmic lean or they could stay Rhythmic CHR due to the fact they are succeeding.

KQMV seems to be doing fine tbh. KBKS maybe around a 3 share but not doing terrible.

I noticed that too. I guess there are only so many hair band hits you can play before it gets tiresome. I’m glad they expanded in that direction.
 
Which station is the eagle??? I think AC/DC and Guns/Roses are artists younger people can't stand listening to. Many people don't like heavy metal anymore and would rather listen to rap like Cardi B and Meghan De Stallion without caring about the profane lyrics specifically teenagers who think that these songs are more grown up due to the bad language. College students probably believe they are old enough to listen to gangster rap and modern rap.

93.3 will probably go rhythmic leaning with more gold tracks like 50 Cent, Eminem, and Beyonce as well as adding some newer rhythmic hits from Drake, Travis Scott, and Ice Spice that work with the Top 40 format but avoid those that do not. At the same time, they most likely will keep Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, The KID Laroi, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, AJR, and Post Malone. Not only would they do that for Hot's audience but would also do it for higher ratings in the market. I think if this does happen the mix could be something like this...

They might also try new personalities as well though. If they haven't already done this or something similar with the mix this could happen pretty soon. They probably won't be able to do a 50/50 type mix that WFLC and Z104.3 are doing since they are the only Mainstream CHR in Tampa rn.

Seems like they already tweaked the playlist since they ended up with lower ratings since "Hot" went Away I think primarily by adding older songs to its playlist so I guess it is kinda a 50/50 mix but not exactly like Z104.3 since it is the only Mainstream CHR station in the market. Wonder if they will tweak even more rhythmic soon due to this.
