"Technical Difficulties" keep an entire edition of CN8 News at 10 off the air

I'm surprised none of your eagle eyes has mentioned this here. One night last week, CN8 News at 10 was completely pre-empted due to technical difficulties. In place of their nightly news program, they aired two half-hour comedy showcase shows. There was an occasional scroll telling viewers that "technical difficulties" kept the news show off the air that night.

Kinda wondering if anyone knows what sort of difficulties the channel experienced. Also interested in your thoughts about them missing an entire broadcast. (Of course, if no one here noticed it, I doubt anyone "out there" noticed.)
