So, Lori has been scaled back (just doing 5, 6:30, and 11). Mark was moved to noon and early evening. Who is now anchoring weekend evenings?

Lori Matuskawa posted the following schedule on her Facebook yesterday...

4 p.m. Mark Wright, Amanda Grace
5 p.m. Mark Wright, Lori Matsukawa
6:30 p.m. Lori Matsukawa, Mark Wright
7 p.m. David Espinosa Hall, Amanda Grace
9 p.m. David Espinosa Hall, Amanda Grace
10 p.m. Amanda Grace, David Espinosa Hall
11 p.m. Lori Matsukawa, David Espinosa Hall

Looks like Sula Kim and Danielle Leigh are back to weekends.

She also noted that Jim Guy and Parella Lewis are both taking some "personal leave" so weather will be covered mostly by Mary Lee and Mark Coleman (back on TV after 8 years away ... not as long of gap, though as Tifffany Sanders who is now freelancing at KIRO and look 12 years off).

We were watching KING 5 News on Saturday before the "big" storm, and my wife asked if they fired everybody or something, because it was so full of glitches and errors. That's when I realized things are REALLY bad at KING.

They are definitely going younger and cheaper.

Production has been a problem since they moved to the new studio. Not sure if they are depending on a lot of automation and its just not working or what... but when they moved, the glitches and errors went through the roof.

There was a post somewhere upthread that KING / TEGNA is taking a hard look at that studio they just built ... they spent a ton of money, but came out with a technically glitchy, very small, and overall behind the eight ball studio at a time when all of their competitors went through an upgrade. Their previous set in the Dexter building had lasted for nearly 20 years with just simple updates and refreshes and was still the best in the market two years ago. The competition all upgraded and have gone way past KING in quality.

ftvlive is reporting that Tracy Taylor is out and Mimi Jung will now be doing traffic. Isn't that a step down for Mimi? On the flip side, Mimi does have a job still.

Mimi is still anchoring the noon show but I feel the traffic one is temp gig and I have a feeling it will be Susan Isaacs who recently left WDSU in New Orleans to come home to Seattle so perhaps she will be the new traffic anchor.

Hopefully you are right! It would be a waste to have Mimi do traffic and I'm sure she's too highly paid for that in TEGNA's mind.

And the fall of KING continues. Tracy Taylor was on the morning news for quite a few years. Are they #4 in ratings yet?

As the wheel keeps spinning in the weather department at KING, Rhonda Lee joined the station about a month ago and is doing the weather for the 5, 7, and 9PM newscasts.

Presumably Jim Guy is doing the 4, 6:30, 10, and 11 newscasts.

It is unclear to me if Keisha Burns survives the closure of NWCN. She's been doing the weather at noon for a few years now ... KING5 does need a weekend evening meteorologist, unless they are content with freelancers Parella Lewis and Mark Coleman.

Doesn't appear that way. When Keisha & Cam said their goodbyes on Friday Keisha said she was looking forward to returning home to warmer weather and looking forward to her next venture. Presumably Ben Dery gets the noon spot.

Also beginning January 25th King 5 morning news will have a new anchor lineup:

4:30a-7:00a Joyce Taylor & Steve Bunin.
7:00a - 9:00a Mimi Jung & Jake Whittenberg.

That is quite fascinating. They have certainly switched around quite a few of the anchors lately. Who is anchoring the noon with Mark Wright?

Isn't Mimi Jung still doing KING 5 News at Noon? Last time I saw here was a few years ago, and if I recall she was doing weekends. But of course this was before TEGNA slapped Bounds/Enersen with a pink slip and a buyout.
Jake Whittenberg anchoring will be interesting - he's always been a reporter for KING/KONG.

Jake has recently been doing fill-in work during holidays and vacations.
