TeleNext/P&G to discontinue soap reruns on Hulu and YouTube

Is P&G that hell-bent on leaving the soap business, to a point that even the reruns will be gone?

The shows are gone, but the way things are going, they'll soon be forgotten.

I thought the whole reason that SoapNet is leaving in a couple of years, despite excellent ratings among women, is because reruns of soaps will be commonly available to viewers. That's why SoapNet is going to become an alternate Disney Channel. The announcement about SoapNet ending in 2012 is because you won't need the channel anymore to catch soaps you may have missed earlier that day or that week.

This announcement contradicts the SoapNet story.

Same-day reruns of the 6 remaining soaps will be available from their respective networks' websites, but reruns of past soaps will not have that availability. No organized cable channel or internet source at all. Exceptions would have to come from individuals that can upload to video players or who could participate in tape trading.
