Terry Ann Knopf, " The Golden Age of Boston Television " Exposes Sexual Harassment

The behavior of the WBZ executive that Terry Ann Knopf writes about in her book, The Golden Age of Boston Television was and probably still is common in the broadcasting industry. She writes back in the 80's then WBZ-TV personality, Linda Harris, suffered sexual harassment from a WBZ TV -4 Executive. At the very same time this incident occurred with Linda Harris I witnessed similar behavior by an executive of a competing broadcast facility which at the time was the number one talk radio station in Boston. One day in April of 1982 my girl friend came in to the studio to go to lunch. As we were on the station elevator this broadcasting executive walked on to the elevator with us. As soon as the doors closed this individual made a pass at my girl fried and tried to make a date with her. She just laughed at him. He physically and morally resembled Donald Trump. On a regular basis this broadcasting executive would go to New York City to pitch the station to the New York advertising agencies. When he returned to the studio he would meet with one of the host and this poster and recounted the number of New York ad agency account executives he had slept with while his wife and children were home in a leafy suburb. He was subsequently terminated by the conglomerate that owned this broadcast facility but he went on to take his questionable behavior to an out of state Public Broadcasting facility. As to a question of libel, this individual passed away about eight years ago.
