Well folks once again its time to vote for members in the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. You must be a member to vote and its only $15.00 for lifetime membership.

If you are going to vote please vote for the following deserving people:
Mike Shannon, Steve Eberhardt,Andy Waldrop, Don Couser,Jim Rose,Jonathan Hayes,George Gimarc. These guys have given a lot to Texas radio from on air presence to innovative ideas, informative and historical websites,to truly having the passion for radio. Please vote for them.

Jim has been in radio in all three of Texas's major markets and has a bi-weekly email news letter that is very popular about radio news, entertainment news plus emails from radio veterans on and off the air. He's a good guy.

Is he the reporter on CH4, or are they different guys?

Some of the people I think deserve it, on the ballot...

Bobby Bell, formerly of KYKX, KTMJ, KKUS (Tyler-Longview)
Tony Bridge, formerly of KMHT & KCUL (Marshall) & KLUE (Longview)
Chuck Brinkman (have to vote for my fellow Steeler fan)
Gary DeLaune, formerly of KLIF & KRLD (DFW), KENS (San Antonio)
Larry Dixon, formerly of KVIL, KPLX, KOAI, KLTY (DFW)
Terry Dorsey, KSCS (DFW)
Steve Eberhart, formerly of KVIL (DFW) & ABC Radio Networks (i believe he's still there)
Josh Holstead (Rowdy Yates), KILT-FM (Houston)
Peggy Sears, formerly of KBOX, KVIL, KLUV (DFW)
Johnny Shannon, formerly of KTSA & KONO (San Antonio) & KILT (Houston)

I just faxed in my ballot, but I couldn't find my membership number (I know its somewhere, but its gotten lost in the last 6 years).

I did have one write-in (as I do every year), Ken Duke - KDDD/KMRE Dumas (deceased). He gave me my first real fulltime job in radio, and taught me a lot about what was a great industry.

Thanks, Larry Shannon, for putting the TXRHOF together.

My ballot: Jon Dillon, Larry Dixon, Terry Dorsey, Don Harris, Jim Long, Dick Risenhoover, Jack Schell, Larry Shannon, Rowdy Yates, Mark Watkins.

I'd vote for:

Larry Dixon, Bob Cole, Peggy Sears, Jack Schell, Howard Garrett, David Gold.

And Charlie Jones, IF it's the same Charlie Jones who went on to become a national TV broadcaster for NBC. And later the first play-by-play voice of the Colorado Rockies.

I think the Charlie Jones in question is the former KZEW, KOAI, KRLD and now TSN talk host. He gets one of my votes, and I appreciate yours. Has Larry announced where it will be this year? Not to brag, but having attended most of them, I still think the Houston TRHOF program was the best. Of course, when you have Bill Young Productions helping out, how could it be bad?
