Deadline's coming up in about two weeks, so if you're a voting member, please VOTE. If not and you want to be, go to www.trhof.com and join up for $15 for a lifetime membership.

As I usually do on here each year, here are some suggestions:

Dave Tucker, KFJZ, KBOX, KTVT, KLTY

Russ Bloxom, KXOL, KJIM, KCLE

Ron Selden (Mike's cousin,) KXOL, KIKK in Houston

Joe Bagby (who died at this time last year,) KBCS, KKDA, KHVN

John McCarty (who died at this time two years ago,) KRSR, KSNN, KFJZ-870, and traffic on just about every DFW station

Dick Siegel, WBAP, KPLX, KLDE (San Angelo)

Ken Barnett, KVIL, KIKM (Sherman)

Sam Pate, KLIF, KBOX, KVIL (the guy who said, "It appears that something has happened in the motorcade;") died last August

Steve Cumming, WBAP, WRR, NTRB

Cat Simon, KVIL, KNUS, KLIF

And, as someone usually suggests on here every year, show some "love" for the behind-the-scenes people...they deserve to be in the HOF as much as anyone.

Dick Siegel does mornings at Oldies KLDE 104.9 in Eldorado (a San Angelo rim-shot). And adding to Mike's notation above, he also worked at KLIF 1190 doing traffic and jock work in the late 70's.

Behind the scenes yet a contributor to radio for a long time, Jon and Mary Ann Wolfert of Jam Productions in Dallas.

He keeps the old PAMS jingle flame alive for collectors and enthusiasts.

How about Mike Shannon for his dedication in keeping EVERYBODY informed on Dallas/Fort Worth radio for about a decade now?

NOOOOOOOOOO.......I'd hate to see that kind of thing debated in THIS forum!! I have been nominated twice in years past, thank you, much to my chagrin! Honestly, even if it did happen, I could not accept something like that. My efforts are the result/culmination of OTHERS' efforts. I just report it all, and try to keep memories alive and such with the website and show. And there's just way too many (you included, Mr. Weaver!) who have put in many more years in the industry, and did far more with it than I ever did myself. There's a LOT of others who need to be inducted before you ever get to the likes of me. But I do thank you, I'm honored and blushing like a schoolgirl. :-[ :)

Ted Norman. Passed away earlier this year. Nominated several times.

Sang in New York with Xavier Cugat and other huge radio bands, came home to WBAP. Created Silver Country Stereo (KSCS). KTXT-TV, and too many other accomplishments to list.

World War II combat pilot, highly decorated.

If Ted Norman isn't in it, there shouldn't be a Hall of Fame.

Willis Johnson should be enshrined as well.

Thank you for the kind words....but I do not belong in the HOF. Nearly 41 years in radio now, 20 as a jock, 20 as a news anchor, and the last year I've been doing traffic. There's never been anything spectacular about my on-air work. I'm only known for two things: 1) I'm a hard worker and 2) computers still befuddle me half the time. I agree with Jody that Ted Norman should certainly be voted in. And two more guys come to mind, both of whom I worked with at KLUV back in the 80s. Dave Van Dyke and Steve Eberhart. Dave is just flat out one of the best PD's ever in the business. Steve was as good as anybody. Ran a super tight board and I don't he ever stepped on a record when bridging an intro. Steve is one of the best radio personalities I ever worked with. One of the shortest also! (Steve, I told you not to enroll in Height Watchers. It worked too well for you.) Steve was like 6-7 and he reduced to 5-2.

One other guy....Mike Rhyner. Is he in the Hall? If not, he oughta be.

Women???

John McCarty (who died at this time two years ago,) KRSR, KSNN, KFJZ-870, and traffic on just about every DFW station

Ken Barnett, KVIL, KIKM (Sherman)

My list:
Dave Ambrose, longtime KLIF air talent and PD, pioneered "Girl Talk" midday format on KLIF; KXOL.

John Bass, newsman at KLIF and East Texas Radio.

Jim Baker, WBAP longtime midday air talent.

Cat Simon - KNUS, KLIF, KVIL, Class FM San Antonio...

Art Nelson - KLIF back in late 50's, early 60's.

Greg Williams - Ticket.

Lynn Haley - KTSA, KVIL, ABC Radio Network.

Tom Bigby - KLUV, KRLD, THE FAN

(...and Jason, I'm 5'8"! )

From Steve's list....double dittos from me for Lynn Haley, Cat Simon and big John Bass.

Though its for radio contributions, John Bass should get in on the strength of his "Sportster" TV commercials in East Texas back in the 80s. Fritz Von Erich putting the iron claw on John trying to wrestle him for Mr. Bass' long-johns was an instant classic!

Hey Mike

Joe Bagby should be in for being on the same dial position and station for 50+ years. Not many have accomplished that in a major market.

Lynne Haley...Good Choice, what is she doing now ? She had the best evening show on KVIL! Indulge me for a bit here, I still have my "official" Lynne Haley fly swatter & the croquet ball that she autographed for me. Listeners of the Lynne Haley show may remember the running joke that whenever Lynne placed a call in the People's Choice contest & no one answered that clearly it was because they were oustide playing croquet. After this had been going on for awhile, Lynne was making a lunch time appearance at a resturant in Plano (meet & greet type of thing) , so when I reached the front of the line I asked her if she would autograph a croquet ball that I had brought. She opened her show that evening by saying that her Radio career had reached it's pinnacle, that she had been asked to autograph a croquet ball ! ;D

Another who hasn't been mentioned is Brad Barton for keeping us all alerted to severe weather conditions since 1978 !
