You need to add Glenn Mitchell to the "Late" list. He was a good guy. I'm happy to hear he was nominated. We went to school togher and spent a lot of good times at KSMU. the student operated campus radio station at SMU. Even then, you could tell that Glenn was someone special.

I agree. I had the pleasure of working with Glenn briefly. Hal Jay, Bud Buschardt,Mike Selden are deserving as well. One day they will modify the ballot so,producers and those who helped the "big names" become big names will get an equal shot. As it stands now,it's pretty much a"good ol'boy "set up . Before one jumps to a conclusion here, No I wasn't nominated, and I wasn't upset about it. I just don't believe the way the ballot is set up is a fair barometer of selection. Kent Burkhart who sits on the panel actually agreed with me.

I couldn't properly phrase things to mention the other "late" ones in the list I posted. Glenn's gone, as is John Labella and Irene Runnels.

Before the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, no one got any recognition. I guess not everybody will ever be satisfied with the results of any awards program.

Maybe someone should start a "Producers Hall of Fame" or some annual honors event like it. But, then, you'd have to also have categories like "Receptionists in Radio Hall of Fame" and the list would never end.

Most likely, when those who are inducted get up to accept their award, they will recognize those whom they felt helped them get where they were or are. Or, they should.

Your last line was a very good point. Too many of the big names onlty recognize fellow big names. There should be catagories instead of a potpouri. Large market, medium, small markets, News reporters, Gm's, owners, engineers, producers. That shouldn't be too hard, but Larry & Co. are being stubborn not to do something like that. I am curious as to the percentage of vote for each nominee, but that information is "private".
