The Addams Family and The Munsters on Boomerang

I just noticed on Boomerang's schedule that they're carrying The Addams Family (the live action version) and The Munsters. Is this just for October, or is this permanent? This is one case where I really don't mind a live action show being on Boomerang since they were shows that were popular with kids.

The more I think about it, Boomerang might be a good channel for showing other classic TV shows that were popular with kids, like The Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island, etc. (possibly even the Three Stooges?) that aren't being shown on TV Land. any other thoughts on this?

I recently got a close up look at the coffin dragster car from The Munsters.
It was on display for an event at a local theater. It was uber-cool! :)

i like those shows .however it is another example of a cable network straying from its theme.

those programs would be better if on tv land which should be showing them anyway.

It's probably just for the month of October. A Halloween thing.

They are also airing the animated series of the Addams Family that aired on ABC in the early-mid 90s. There is a marathon of the animated series as well as Munsters on Monday from 6 am to 5:30 pm to commemorate Columbus Day.

I don't see a bad idea in the concept, when you consider that Boomerang is all about "coming back to you now". Last time I saw it, they don't specifically mention cartoons only. "Hillbillies" BTW is on MeTV everyday... and the 3 Stooges have been shown weekends on Antenna TV afilliates.

the thing is first they show live addams family and munsters shows.then morte shows like that replacing the cartoon shows.and eventually it becomes like nick at night where it had a programing style that becomes unrecognizable.no catroons and live shows unlike the addams family.

thats how it usually works.

I don't see any big changes ahead for Boomerang. For those of you that don't receive the channel, they run commercial free -similar to TCM. Most of what they run is what they own (Hanna-Barbara, MGM library), so no programing fees. I don't know what the deal is on The Munsters/Addams Family but I am pretty sure they will disappear after October.

Personally, I'd love to see Bullwinkle on the channel. It would fit perfectly. Bullwinkle is syndicated by Program Exchange which offers the show at no cost but inserts their own spots. So that's not going to happen.

One thing I noticed today while watching "The Munsters" on Boomerang: Actually I was in the next room and just heard it, but apparently they don't shrink/speed up the closing credits. I heard the entire closing theme and the Universal/Revue music, too. Now if SyFy would treat "The Twilight Zone" that way...
