Thanks to all who posted here confirming what I feared when I started this thread: TERRESTRIAL RADIO IS DOOMED!
Most threads morph from the original theme at this site, which is fine. Good conversation always welcomes new ideas and concepts.
Unfortunately, the total non-discussion of the original subject, (which if you will review was about whether the public will grow tired of trying to keep up with their favorite radio and bail on the entire medium,) is evidence that indeed, the radio industry is doomed by it's own lack of self-awareness. The radio industry refuses to acknowledge that it is in danger of extinction, and instead continues to amuse itself with format tweaking and frequency swapping, as though that will somehow keep the business solvent. The listening public DOESN'T care! They just want their music. If they don't get if from constantly changing radio formats, poor reception and badly researched music they will just go somewhere else!
