The Band Starts a campain to get the doobies into the R and R hall of Fame

There are bands that started making hits a lot later than both the Doobies and Chicago already in the Hall of Fame like the Pretenders... The Doobie Bros and Chicago should be there...

Don't get me started on this. Entire articles have been written about the tyranny of the HOF induction committee, led by you-know-who, the former San Francisco resident and magazine publisher.

One glaring omission is Neil Diamond, who should be in for his writing alone, as well as his own hits. But I agree with the Doobie Brothers, for their pioneering work as a cross-over band, having hits on pop and rock stations, and their ability to reinvent themselves with new people, like Michael McDonald. Chicago is in that same category. But a lot of that pop side is what turns off the committee. Hey, how about Tower of Power?

When I suggested Chicago for the Hall of Fame, they sent an e-mail back to let me know that the days of Buddy Holly are long gone, that New York dictates the terms to Ohio.
