Dean James (KSCS, Entravision and husband of WBAP's Susan Darwin) and Joel Folger (KEGL jock in the earliest Eagle days) are syndicating their country format, "The Bar," to Waitt Radio Networks, according to Radio World. It's described as "a deep country format featuring a blend of current hits and crossover rock." "The Bar" debuted in March 2006.
Folger, who I remember best as serving up many an "Eagle Free Flight" around 1980-81, also created the "Bob-FM" format.
And before anyone starts making comparisons to KZPS, the article didn't say whether "The Bar" included Nashville country. I believe that's the difference between "Lone Star" and other country-rock hybrids..."Lone Star" is only "Texas" country, right?
