So, it's the 3rd preseason game and yet WTVN is not carrying the preseason games. Why? It did not necessarily conflict with Soccer either. I thought if you got the rights to the broadcast, you were required to carry them all?

There was Crew soccer at 4:00 today - they could have joined the football coverage in progress once the soccer ended - but they did not. In previous years, they have also cut short some of the pre-game or post-game coverage during the regular season. Meanwhile 103.9 (Steelers) and 105.7 (Browns) seem to offer full coverage of their respective teams each year. It would seem as though 610 does not put a real high priority on the Bengals, but I cannot remember a time when they did not carry all of the regular season games. Historically, has a different station ever carried the Bengals in central Ohio?
I know the Steelers aired on 1460 back in the mid to late 90’s and the old Browns were on 1460 before leaving Cleveland at the end of the 1995 season. Both have been on FM here in Central Ohio for some time.
I always thought 610 would take the Browns radio coverage when the new team came back in 1999 – the Browns have also seemed to be the more popular team in this area and it would make sense for them to be on the more highly rated (and powerful ) station. The signal is also directional towards the north (non-daylight), which seems perfect for the Browns. I will admit my Steelers most likely come in # 3 in central Ohio - but it seems as though I see more Black and Gold fans here over the last decade as people migrate to Columbus from eastern Ohio – I am just happy that they remain on 103.9!
