A friend of mine gave me a lot of old TV and Radio audio clips on CD a few weeks back..Included in these was a nearly full episode of "The Bill Randle Show" from TV Station WEWS Channel 5 Cleveland..Randle in the mid 1950's was a well known Radio DJ and early rock and roll promoter most well known for introducing a young Elvis Presley to northern audiences through his radio shows and some 1955 concerts in Cleveland..He had just introduced Elvis on CBS' "Stage Show" in late January, 1956..It was around this time that Randle began hosting this locally produced music show, which aired Sunday nights at 10:30 PM on WEWS-TV..Randle "knew everybody" in the music business and could get really well known guests to come to Cleveland to appear on this live show..The guest list for the March 4, 1956 Show was:
Billy Eckstine (The Fabulous Mr. B.)
Lou Busch aka Joe "Fingers" Carr
Dick Duane
Nick Noble
The Four Coins, who cover the Platters' hit "Great Pretender"
The announcer is Alan Douglas, who was in TV and Radio in Cleveland into the 1970's..He was the first host of the "Morning Exchange"
Unfortunately this is audio only, but very good sound quality for the time..
Interestingly enough, while Elvis never appeared on this show, Randle offered an autograph picture of Elvis mear the end of the show..

I thought some people might enjoy this rarity..Almost certainly the only episode of this in any form..
