Have been informed, thanks Mark, that WBIX will be the new calls for Salem Media's 1260 in Boston (biz and financial talk...?). You will recall them being used for 1060 as a business station and it was estimated a biz format was a possibility as well as a _fourth_ conservative talker. Memories of the Bleidts....yikes

Maybe but Boston already has WRKO, WKOX, WBZ (mostly news), WBUR and WGBH. Yes they could but they failed yrs ago doing it at 1150.A news-talker
would have their own lineup of Hewitt, Praeger, Medved and Gallagher and maybe one local host. They do that in Pitt. with WPGP 1250 the Answer,
another former Radio Disney station. Business talk supposedly does well for them.

THAT phrase pops up on the supposed new WBIX site.

At least part of it is. Ken Prewitt, listed as one of the hosts of Bloomberg Surveillance (and prior to that, a long-time business reporter for WCBS), died in April.

Most likely they just grabbed an old copy of WBZSʼs sched as a placeholder—though if you look at the bottom, the Local News links column on the left appears current, while the Small Business column links next to it are from 2011 (perhaps some specific feed grabs?).
 
Now hearing today is when they take over and will
officially announce the new format;no word yet
on what the format will definitely be and when
they actually return to air

Sounds like a blank carrier on 1260 again now, and the HD/IBOC is not on.

WKOX (1430) shut off their HD/IBOC a couple of weeks ago (maybe for good this time?), so assuming it stays off on 1260, then WBZ 1030 will be the only remaining AM HD/IBOC station in the greater Boston area.
