The Classic Hip-Hop and R&B Fad Format Has Now Invaded...

Marion Alabama. WJUS 1310 AM and 94.3 FM is now a part of it. Just caught wind of it today. The program, from what I could tell, is a satellite fed based network.

Classic Hip hop and R&B are not cash cow formats and won't stick around very long, the reason mainly is that unlike rock or country, classic hip hop doesn't age well with time, there may be a few stand out hit singles, but overall much of it is stuff that will lead people to turn the dial.

So it's Jack FM all over again. That might be the most "flash in the pan" format I've heard in my short lifetime.

2.The James Spann weather feed has been added to WJSU 40.3.

3. WTVY 4.3 has dropped the CW Plus. They are now Grit TV.

4. There is a radio station you don't have on the list. 100.1 FM in Anniston a new 25,000 watt CP.

5. I mentioned this in my last post but WAFF 48.3 Grit TV is now on Comcast on channel 218. WAFF Bounce 48.2 is on Comcast on channel 217.

Sorry I didn't acknowledge this sooner. I'm working on updating this now after falling a little behind over the start of the new year.

So does that mean that both WTVY and WDFX are airing Grit TV on subchannels?

That's a question I'd certainly like to know as well, since both stations are Dothan-market. I'm too far away to pick up WDFX off-air and I don't know anyone who lives in that part of the state. Rabbit Ears still shows Grit on WDFX and CW+ on WTVY… and WDFX has a link to Grit TV on their website (the crap site that it is) so maybe they are both carrying it. Why, though, I have no idea. There was another 'companion' channel to Grit called Escape TV that was supposed to be targeted more towards women. The only area near Alabama that I know is carrying it is Columbus, GA. Grit TV's site lists WDFX but not WTVY, so it may be temporary. As I like to say in cases like this, "who really knows?" :)

It's also worth noting that some folks probably see Grit TV OTA from WPGX out of Panama City.

Now that I look at Grit TV's website it appears this may be right, you would probably need to call the station to make sure I know now Grit is on WDVX but I am not for sure on WDVY.

I thought I read online somewhere Grit TV was on WTVY but maybe not. I thought I did though,

This is my guess to the matter.

If Grit is indeed on both of them they are just testing on WTVY. WTVY .3 Will become full Me TV and leave full My Net on .2 or vise versa. I can understand replacing CW Plus since there are no local inserts usually on CW Plus, and making CW Plus cable only makes since

I think I have figured out the confusion about Grit TV.

This is what Actually happened; WTVY .2 Was caring This TV / My Net and decided to drop This TV for ME TV However there was about 24 Hours after one deal ran out and the other deal started so they filled in with Grit TV. CW Plus never left the .3 channel. Grit TV only filled in the .2 channel for about 24 Hours.
