The closing or merging of TV newsrooms

Three stations in Hawaii folded their news departments into a single operation named Hawaii News Now over a decade ago. It created a lot of controversy, including in the firing of their experienced engineering staffs in favor of barely-trained new hires (see the Controversy section in the link below).

 
Ever since this thread was made we have to wait for the antitrust lawsuit between the State of California Vs. Nexstar over the Tegna merger. We have to wait on where the newsrooms are going to be shut down as in KXTV and KTXL had separate offices in different parts of Sacramento prior to the merger We have to wait and see which offices get shut down, divested when finalized.

Weird when KHON 2 and KGMB 9 were owned by Emmis. They kept the separate news department and separate offices unlike the later KGMB 9 and KFVE 5/KHNL 13.
