There are at least two Adult Standards stations in Texas. Try www.kzqx.com It's in the Kilgore-Longview area. And yes, this is a shameless plug.

Not to mention KJIM 1500. It has a really good signal in Collin County.
KJIM is a pretty good station.
Along with 1230 KSST and 1240 KVSO. All 3 have pretty good Oldies Formats on them.
However all 3 of them cant be heard at night.
KJIM is a daytimer. KSST & KVSO are Grave yarders

I like KJIM 1500, I wish they had more power to make it an easier listen in DFW.

So much better than most of the overprocessed & overdone stations here. It is a nice break for the ears.

MMMMM...I used to do a request show on K-LUV Saturday Nights...maybe there is an opportunity at KAAM..convince the PD I can do better

Uh huh.

Good luck with that Big Danny!

They Got McCoy doing it I think. They're also taking on syndicated programs as well. Not to mention you have to put up with Junior as well.

OK, The Guy (aka Cruzin' Al) is gone. Now they've got Jaan McCoy trying to remember how to do Top 40 circa 1960. He replaced The Guy. The Guy did the program live. Jaan obviously tapes his versions. No more call in requests.

The Guy was some old dude about my age who had a very good personal collection of very old and sometimes unfamiliar R&B records, and a pretty good knowledge of the music. He did the program for the heck of it. And, granted, it sounded like he did it for the heck of it.

But I used to get a kick out of him when I listened once in awhile. RIP Cruzin' Al.

Meanwhile, the programming idea was a good one. The key and missing component is getting a DJ who actually knows the music, the patter-style, and who did it "back then." Maybe some other station will "invent" and execute the idea properly.
