The CW Opts Not To Renew Affiliation Deals With Scripps-Owned Stations In Seven Markets

I've seen three episodes so far of "Wild Cards", a buddy-comedy cop show. It's about a disgraced cop trying to get back his reputation and a street-smart criminal trying to stay out of prison.

Also, "The Chosen", about the life of Jesus.

Discovered this today and it’s not necessarily Scripps, but it’s worth a chat.

WKTV (virtual ch. 2) in Utica, NY will put the CW+ off of its 3rd subchannel in exchange for something unknown as of right now. CW+ will move to WFXV (virtual ch. 33)’s second sub-channel on September 1st, replacing Ion Mystery, which in turn moves to their 3rd subchannel, replacing Laff, which in turn moves to an all-new 4th subchannel. Quite the stuff happening in Utica.

Apparently Nexstar is adding CW+ on 5 of its Stations Subchannels replacing a Scripps network on each one. Nexstar Stations Become CW Affiliates In Five Markets

Looked at KEYT's schedule via their site and their Ion+ sub says "To Be Announced" all day starting 9/1. Is CW gonna replace Ion+ on there or something

According to the TV Listings of both KEYT/KCOY and KSBY:

  • 3.4 (Ion Plus) does have the "To Be Announced" posted
  • 12.1/2/3 still has Telemundo/Fox/Laff programming
  • 6.2 (The CW) has the last CW program as a CW Movie followed by infomercials and airing its first Laff program with the movie Encino Man
What I'm thinking is that The CW would likely end up on 3.4 (replacing Ion Plus) and/or 12.3 (replacing Laff)

I found it strange they did reruns in the summer with no new episodes.
Wild Cards is a Canadian show that aired on CBC and CW in the winter and spring of 2024. It has been renewed in Canada, and new episodes should air on both networks in early 2025.
I am sure they did that to promote the show to new viewers who did not see it the first time.
Exactly. CW must have been pleased with the ratings the first time around.

Meanwhile I assume two other Canadian shows that CW has aired, Family Law (Global) and Sight Unseen (CTV) that have been renewed in that country will also air stateside in early 2025.

Another Canadian show on CW, The Spencer Sisters, was cancelled by CTV after one season.
