I drove back from the Houston area today, and made a point to go near where the relocated KRCM (formerly located in Beaumont, now near the Woodlands) might be - not on the air. KOLE in Port Arthur is STILL off the air after several weeks of mismanagement (suddenly realizing that the studios would be lost to another owner). KZZB can't be heard audibly in many parts of Beaumont, and at least one other station is completely off the air. KSET which was in Silsbee is no longer on the air, and has an application to move to Lumberton but this isn't happening either. A pretty sad state of affairs for AM radio, and to think that Ralph McBride and Birach broadcasting have successfully killed off two of these stations completely. Amazing.

I totally agree with you. Other than KLVI and KOGT AM is dead in this area.
Any word on 1150-AM in Port Neches? Last I read was that it was sold to a Michael Augustus of Houston but I'm not sure if that ever actually happened.

I think 1150 is dead - CW may have an update on this as he seems to know more of the details than I. I can also say that KDEI (1250) still does not have working lights on their new tower that has been rebuilt. I guess it will take a plane crashing into the tower to call attention to this by the FCC. Or maybe not.
