The Death Of Martin Luther King, Jr.

CBS Television's first bulletin regarding the shooitng of Dr. King was brief and anchored in NY by Dan Rather. Walter Cronkite was busy preparing for his next feed of the evening news. The report included a remote feed from CBS' Memphis affiliate. The network's special report, anchored by Joe Benti and featuring Dan Rather anc Charles Kuralt, aired later that evening.
