The problem is that people expected O and A to produce an instant 16 share in the demo which is not as you suggest men 18-34, they skew a bit higher but not completely 25-54. Either way Dohgouse has ticked up a bit no doubt but they are not setting any fires. They have a small but vocal following. To some degree the same can be said of O and A (before Starscream has a heart attack let me explain). If you look at O and A's numbers all the way back to WNEW or eve earlier, their cume was never particularly high, the secret of the O and A success has always been their TSL! Their listeners while not a huge audience are insanely loyal and hang on their every word (also believe their every word too..... :
). They listen
long. O and A have some of the highest TSl in radio which is what has ALWAYS driven their numbers, it's not a huge cume like Howard cultivated along with a huge TSL as well. As for tthe dog house dragging down O and A's numbers with their 9 oclock hour? that was O and A's spin because although it is true that DH's 9 am hour got factored into O and A's numbers just because of the way the arbitron clock breaks down, O and A were not setting the world on fire like everyone including them thought they would with like I said an instant 16 share. No diss of DH or O and A, just objective fact without the hinderennce of being a psycho "fan" getting in the way.. the way it obviously does in most of these posts for and against DH or O and A.
