WFNY is a major station that is going down fast. With a 1.3 share that sucks. 24 other NY stations have better numbers. How do you fix this, well you promote it from within, from outside, whatever it takes. WFNY was once able to bill major money for ads, like when Stern did them $30K per ad, do you think they still bill like that? Not a chance. O&A's fan base is 18-34 male. I know that they ok numbers in that demo, but outside of not so good. Who has the money to buy things in NY that would be the demo 25-54.
So with that said, post somewhere else and you will happier.

Re-read the FMQB article I linked to earlier in this thread. O&A are actually weaker (slightly) in Men 18-34 than they are 25-54. No matter what, they are strong across the board and are the top English show for men between 6-9.
Secondly, stop comparing to Howard. Do you honestly think Howard was charging 30 grand a spot when he was six months into his K-Rock gig? No, that was after 10 years of consistently building an audience.

Howard use to talk about the other jocks all the time.I hate howard but I listened because there was nothing else to listen to and he use to have the other jocks in the studio or talk about the female jocks. What would of been so hard for O&A to promote the other shows. Saying its a waste of air time is bull.No matter how many stations they are on taking 5 seconds to promote the other shows on the station couldn't hurt their show. I'm not talking about sucking their ass but just acknowledge the shows. I know theres many O&A listeners who say they hate jv and elvis just because the on air fight between the shows or because their gods o&A told them to hate them.If anyone says something that goes against o&A the pests get in attack mode but they never listen nor do they think for themselves. The pests are just O&A puppets and when the strings are pulled they respond. Both shows would be great for the station only if O&A could lose their howard egos.
Now As for the doghouse They are mistreated by the station.They get no advertising.It took 9 months to get tshirts and people expect a talk show on middays to pull massive numbers by what word of mouth. Thats just not gonna happen.

In terms of promoting other shows, The Dog House did just that when they were briefly filling in for David Lee Roth when he was on his final leg. They plugged shows in each of the markets they were in. I recall them pumping up Kidd Chris (I think that's his name)
They did the same for another few stations they were on, so don't tell me it is not doable.
And in the business, sure, everyone wants the station to succeed, but when you are stuck in middays, and the only way to move into a drive time slot would be some sort of failure there, it is only natural to half-hearttedly root for that to happen.

Promoting the show? Are you kidding........Welcome to 2006 they can delete add whateve they wish and because of the delay they have time to do so. With that said, in NY O&A can say The Doghouse with JV and Elvis next, not they say for those that are going to join us at XM great, for the rest have a nice day. That is BS. JV and Elvis always say Cramer is on next and the Radio Chick at 3. O&A are out for themselves and it is that simple. They can help build WFNY or just flush it, it up to them.
O&A have always been out for themselves and it goes back to the WNEW days. They wanted to be Stern, or the next Stern and could never come close. They were removed for 2 years and had to go to Xm to do something. DlR was the master of radio and they called back the fool from XM. After all this time, the radio had changed in NY and O&A know it and are worried about it. They are only going to have a short life on "real radio" and then it is bad to XM where they will be forever.

I'm not saying he is good or not, but he is on live in at least LA, SD, SF, and Portland. So, if Bonaduce is going to have a show and it has to come out of LA, it will have to be on between 10am-3pm or after 7pm Pacific Time. So, if he was going to be on live in NY, you have to figure out his slot from those times.

Make the talent a local thing and move them into other markets that are close. I am sure the new PD at WFNY 92.3 knows the game and will take care of it. He also knows that a new show is not going to hit in a few months, it takes at least 1 and half years. Stern even said this about DLR.
Yes I would say that JOHN MAINELLI is the person that will turn WFNY around. Do I think that the Doghouse will fit, yes, and I am sure that he thinks the same. Let us see what time will tell on the NEW NEW NEW 92.3 Free FM
