The Doghouse with JV and Elvis WFNY 92.3 Free Fm

1) Tony, can you please put up the link for your quote. Stern has not been sold as only an 18-34 year old show in SF nor NY in the last decade. It is funny that you think that 18-34 is so great, when 25-54 is called the "Money Demo" in radio. And you best friends never beat Stern in that demo in SF (never competed in NY). And you bring up them beating O&A when they have never competed against each other in any market ever.

2) Word. I understand that you are a fan. But this is a radio message board. I would never post up stuff about how JV just lies more than any other radio host on his fan board. That might be the place for you. Like I have said, enjoy the show, laugh, and tell your friends, but those in the know, know what he is full of.

http://www.mediaweek.com/mw/news/recent_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001349679 Thiis is from 2005 so I would think it is less them 10 years................You and the world know that Stern is 18-34 Demo are you kidding?

I'm sorry. Anyone that works in radio knows that Stern's demo was 25-54 for at least the last 8 years of his regular radio gig.

Any question about 18-34 or 25-54 ended in about 1997.

Do you want to ask why Stern always, every single book, every single month, had his show make more money than the Doghouse in SF?

There is a reason folks try to put themselves in the 25-54 market instead of the 18-34. It is the difference between selling BMW's and call to action ads rather than trading out club openings.

Once again, you are a fan. Enjoy their show for what it is. They were the #8 revenue generating morning show in SF in Spring 2000 (easiest, earliest for me to look up right now). Not Stern at #1. Not KGO at #2. Not KCBS at #3. Not KFOG at #4. Not KNBR at #5. Not KOIT at #6. Not even KLLC at #7.

A nice, niche show. Enjoy it. But not a show that makes a dent in the radio world.

I understand you believe every word that JV says, but it just "ain't" true, much, maybe most of the time.

Doug,

Even the station that fired them in SF WILD has the doghouse as having double digit ratings...

Okay, last time. I won't respond anymore so you can go back to your love fest.

First, it is pr spin from KYLD.

Too bad we can't post real numbers here. It is obvious you don't have access to the real numbers but just spin put on by JV and radio stations.

But you said the Doghouse's demo is 18-34 M.

So, how did the Doghouse do in what you claim was their target demo vs. Stern in these record breaking numbers over their last 20 books in SF on KYLD (up to Winter 2005)? Pretty good, they beat Stern 7 times. Which means Stern beat them 13 times in what you just said was their target market.

How does that make them #1 for ten plus years like you claimed? They were not even usually #1 in what you just told me was their target demo.

Stern beat them 20 out of 20 in 25-54 btw.

I'm sorry if I am coming off as a jerk here. I don't go and correct you on your own JV & Elvis board. But this is a radio board, so when someone says something that is just out and out not true, I'm not "hating" I'm just pointing out the truth.

One more last thing, honest, just to stop some attempted spin and then I won't post again on this thread.

When Stern was beating the Doghouse more often than not in SF, he was on a lower rated station and on tape delay. And did a total of 1 appearance total ever when he was on in SF.

The Doghouse was live and on a station that was top 2 in 18-34 throughout the rest of the day. And did weekly live appearances.

Can we say, "Myth busted"?

No one is spinning anything except for you with you're much un-needed sarcasm and arrogance. When people were speaking of The Dog House beating Stern in ratings they weren't talking about every demographic. That's been made very clear. So stop acting as if you're telling is something we don't already know.

Besides that, does it really matter? The Dog House is making it's way upward at a very respectable pace here in NY. You can argue about ratings all you want, but it doesn't really matter at this point. They've started fresh in the #1 market in the country. Stop being jealoys and get over it.

Can we say...PWNED?

See ya later DougR

I don't get what DougR's Problem is? He has much disdane for John London and the Doghouse.

Ohh Well.... it takes all kinds

Yes we know Stern is a pioneer, a trendsetter, a GOD to many. He is respected by millions and has billions of dollars in his bank account to show for it.
Develop a loyal fan base, bring in funny people, people with special needs that are somewhat "challenged" and you can do the same. Your fans spread the word and listeners who don't know you from Adam, will start to follow. Look at O&A with 1/2 a talent in Anthony they have spread their virus and have hooked up with people who can sell this.
The DOGHOUSE came with a top rated show from a top five market and worked their way to the number one market.
They brought with them a fresh taste and a focus. But they are stuck in a time slot that's close to overnights. Roll the dial and listen to the other crap thats on the radio from 9 am - 12 noon.
You'll come back to JV & Elvis and the DOGHOUSE WHAAAAT!
MRLICK

[EDIT]DOUGHOUSE!!!!!!!

WHAAAAAAT?????

you got to appreciate what these guys are able to accomplish even in middays. I used to get irritated when they would leave at 1pm, for Jim Kramer's boring republican ass, after a 4 hour gig, still wanting to talk about topics they didnt have time to get to because they were having too much fun the first four hours. Then when they finally get rid of KKKramer the 1st, they take the 4th hour away from the DH.even a 10-2 slot would be better for them than a 9-12 or 9-1 for that matter. Or how about O&A take a long walk off a short peer, and bring their little retarded leech with them.

If you like guys who are fun, sarcastic, and completely entertaining, then take a listen. If not, you're probrably not going to be that interesting yourself, and it would be better to have fun and entertaining listeners, than to have people who think watching reality TV, and info-mercials is entertainment.
