The "Double fantasy" LP signed by John Lennon is up for sale..the album was found that same evening by a gentelman and he had if for several some years and sold it i believe (don't know for sure, I think 20K)the third owner has announced that it up for sale.
The record is expected to sell for $850,000, which injects some controversy into the story. On the one hand, there’s no denying the historical significance and symbolic nature of Chapman’s autographed record, but on the other, someone is directly profiting from Lennon’s death, which has some Lennon/Beatles fans beyond upset. (Zimet went on to say that the seller has asked to remain anonymous for fear of death threats.)
Would you buy the autographed LP if you had the money, or does the thought of paying for something that once belonged to the man who killed one of music’s legends disturb or anger you? My guess is that it will go for a Million-plus...in the past John Lennon hand written lyric sheets have sold for over 800K.
