The worst part is since the subject matter is static, you'd probably be better just airing the reruns as a "retro" thing.
Would today's kids watch 1970s children's shows like old Electric Companys? No doubt Morgan Freeman would draw in adult viewers (which was one of the reasons the DVD sets sold so well), but would the 70s fashions, lingo and style bore a child instead of educate?
I don't think many of today's kids would watch a 1970's Electric Company. Yes i do think they would be bored.
Back in the 70s, kids back then..were just that..kids. Today OTOH, a lot of kids aact pretty much like younger adults. I can still remember back in the 80s kids ( even in high school ), guys were not allowed to wear earrings. Today, not only do boys were such things to school but many of them have real tattoos as well. Like the photo I saw over the summer that appeared in one of the Denver newspapers. The pic was that of a local high school football player. The guy had these massive black tattoos up and down his arms, several earrings in both ears, a shaved head and a full beard. The guy had just turned 16 ! ! !
A guy like that chances are would be considered "cool" by many of today's kids. So a TV show from 1973 where the kids look like their clothes came from Sears I doubt will cut it with todays kids.
