The End of Loren and Wally

On WROR.com, the only personalities now listed under DJs are Julie Devereaux and JayBeau Jones. So the L&W show has been wiped out but Bob Bronson has not been added yet. However, further down the main page, you can still find the link to the final L&W Show podcast.

Anyone listen Monday morning? Listened in from 8:45 to 9:15. It was ok, nothing earth shattering, LBF and Brian seemed to be enjoying themselves with Bob. At one point, Bob mentioned that Beasley did a great job honoring his predecessors by setting up WROR's HD-2 channel as Men From Maine. He didn't actually mention L&W by name and I have no idea if he did earlier in the morning.

WROR HD2 is now all "Men From Maine" all the time, "The Bone" (classic hard rock) is gone.

I didn't see a reason for Beasley to keep "The Bone" on WROR HD2 after recently launching such a musically similar format on WBOS main channel and HD1, so I was wondering if something was going to happen to it.

I tuned in briefly from afar yesterday via stream and heard no DJ patter or mention of new host (9-9:30..doesn't show go till 10 or does he leave at 9?)

Wow there is a compelling format to run on a HD2, that will really have the audiophiles running out to buy HD radios

That 240 dollars a year I pay for Sat radio in my 2 daily drivers is worth every dime

The show goes until 10 but there is slightly less talk after 9.

It was like this even when both L&W were still on and the station was owned by Greater Media. I'd be driving to work and there'd be antics and banter till 9:00, at which time there'd be a station ID and a segue into (almost) continuous music, with a minimal amount of announcements - not humor or anything of interest - from Loren and/or Wally. Tom Doyle, Sue Cope, Hank Morse, Lungboy - it's like they weren't even there past 9:00.

So this is not anything new.

Made sense to me. The commute is over for most by 9, so no need for the funny stuff anymore. That last hour was a transition to the blander, more music-intensive midday sound.
