Why would the start of the countdown to the flip of the party begin for. I106 isnt anywhere near a True CHR. Cumulus lays to Heavy on the Recurrents to even be a true CHR/Top 40/Mainstream Station. I106 will langish in 3rd place and just shave some shares off of the River and the Party. Im Surprise i havent heard a Rob Thomas Track yet. SInce the Corperate CHR person at Cumulus has a thing for Rob Thomas/Matchbox Twenty

i106 and The Party aren't even close to eachother. i106's target is The River, but 107.5 is firmly planted as the place for pop music. It's not going to be easy. The Party is Rhythmic now, wedged between 101.1 and 107.5, and it's too bad they don't have a signal to compete. They could pull 3 shares on the right stick.

and why would a Rhymic leaning Party even be scared at Flipping at an Adult Leaning Mainstream CHR station. the loser will be 106.7 which will eventually flip to format 7 in a 18 months or so

What will the new call sign be? I would think by them calling themselves "I106" they would have to have a new call sign.

Wasn't deregulation supposed to bring MORE diversity in formats to the radio? A THIRD CHR for Nashville, Cumulus? Yeah, real divers...

Well, knowing the powers behind it, it'll only be a CHR til a record label takes one mesly promotion to one of their competitiors in ATL and their consultant pulls a sure-fire Top 10 hit from all Cumulus CHRs in retribution.

Shake-Shake-Sha-Sha-Sha-Shake It!

Do you think they will install a House Music based mixshow on that station????

yes..."White House"...one of the few places that their signal covers.
funny, huh?

Radio in Nashville actually sucks. The Party is stuck and not going anywhere so lets see what this I 106.7 can do. I'll give it a try.

I guess I really saw it coming.

George Plaster is really tough to beat in Nashville.

Now the big question is do we have way too much chr stations as oppose to too much sports stations from a decade ago.

Nashville is a growing market in terms of population.

I assume Cumulus made the decision to accomodate the anti-sports fans in the area.

I agree with the last post though in that Nashville radio is really horrible in terms of variety and personalities.

I wish it was more like east tennessee or even Memphis where there is more to choose from.

But I guess this also means that will see a lot more subscribers to Sirius/XM just so they can get their dose of ESPN Radio without any local

stuff.

Three CHRs are at again in Nashville market. Reminds me of 96Kiss, Y-107 and KX-104 circa mid-80's. Somebody may change to Rock Hits, watch out.

Let's review formats previously occupying 106.7: WAMB-FM was on 106.7 for a weekend or two around 1995 or -6. 106.7 The Planet aired 1997-9. Rooster (rock) and Blazin' (hip-hop) had short lives. Kiss 106.7 (R&B oldies) was on air for about a year. ESPN was latest format until today. Did I miss one or more?

Ya had to bring up Rock Hits, didn't ya courier... even after all these years ... it's the dumbest move ever made in this market...
until 106.7 signed on. No. 97.1. No....never mind. Rock Hits was brilliant by today's standards. All I can say is no one from
Crotchuless+ reads this board _____ NO RUPERT HOLMES. Bad choices continue... Rooster was the Beaver for a few days, IIRC...

+ just playing, love the company
