The FCC to investigate Audacy owned KCBS(AM)/KFRC-FM over ICE coverage

Keep in mind I seen other Audacy owned all news stations cover similar events related to ICE in other parts of the country. But this one why are we accusing George Soros for the news coverage even though Audacy's majority owner is David Field and allies.

True and other Audacy owned all-news stations covered the same stuff in other parts of the country. This stuff opens the legal team of Audacy to sue the FCC on 1st Amendment grounds.

And who's going to make the final ruling on that? The Supreme Court stacked with Trump sycophants?
True too unless congress changes in 2026-2027 and removes some Trump allies there. Audacy legal team can request that house and senate investigate the allegations that FCC is doing questionable stuff and have hearings there.

Let’s get this right George Soros is not the CEO of Audacy.

I consider myself to be a conservative (and a frequent listener of KCBS when I’m in the Bay Area). This seems like a bit of a reach if you ask me. The structure of KCBS has always seemed decently balanced to me. I’m not a cheerleader for Audacy in any capacity, but it’s not like Soros is having a direct role in the operation of any Audacy station.

The Audacy non-news AM stations still air tons of conservative and pro Trump talk shows. The only ones that could be defined otherwise are basically KMBZ and WWL, WWL has a moderate, a conservative, a moderate, and a lot of sports. KMBZ is mostly local talk and the conservative stuff is on KMBZ (AM.) So whatever they feared Soros would do isn't being done, and won't be as long as that stuff sells advertising.

As for the news stations, news is news. Facts are facts. Love or hate what ICE is doing, KCBS reported on it. That's the format.

More details on the KCBS reporting and response from the FCC in this opinion piece:

The key point I see is that the report on KCBS took place while the raid was in progress. So the claim by Carr that the report "tipped off" immigrants isn't supported by the timeline.

The savings on housing, feeding and giving education and health care to illegal immigrants is vastly greater than a campaign to encourage them to repatriate themselves to their country of origin.

Several weeks ago, I had to go to one of three local ERs for what turned out to be a minor issue and not an emergency. I was there over 8 hours waiting.

I later spoke with another person at the hospital ( where I am a donor and have something in my estate planned for). She told me that about 50% of the people there were undocumented (not just uninsured) and had no insurance, no papers (or a "chueca") and they had to, by law, give them service. In many cases, due to their status, they waited too long to go to the hospital, so they consume perhaps 75% of the staff resources.

Further, since they had no accessible medical records, they required more expensive testing and preliminary examinations to be able to help them.

I think that beyond the law, service must be given due to the Hippocratic Oath.

Umm that’s not how it works. First let’s accuse Soros for running Audacy and their affiliates like WINS, KCBS, WBBM and KNX and now blame Soros for funding NPR and PBS. Soros is basically a catch all term for anything not tied via funding to Elon Musk, RFK Jr and Donald Trump at this point.
