THE GEORGIA RADIO HALL OF FAME

I would like to say though, that the WSSA aircheck is priceless! I remember when this station was programmed just this way and it sounded so good. It was small market radio that had Jingles/and plenty of fun elements to listen to.

A name many of you may not recognize, but
someone who worked with Douglas Edwards
at WSB: Lee Jordan, a longtime staff announcer
at CBS. He used to announce the soap Love Is
A Many Splendored Thing, as well as Guy Lombardo's
annual New Year's Eve show on the Eye Network.

In a history of WSB, "Welcome South Brother," there's
a picture from the early '40s of Edwards and Jordan,
apparently doing a football-scoreboard show; Edwards
is shown with news copy while Jordan is collecting
scores of college games around the country.
