THE GEORGIA RADIO HALL OF FAME

While green is on everyones mind today, why not spend 25 green ones to become a LIFETIME member of the coolest club in town, The Georgia Radio Hall Of Fame! Maybe you want to nominate Neil O' Boortz, or Rhubarb Mc Jones, or Fitz Ski to be inducted this Fall. You can, but only if you're a member!A happy and safe St Patty's Day to one and all!

The Georgia Radio Hall of Fame will almost look like the American Radio Hall of Fame. Drake, Drew, Burkhart, Douglas Edwards, Dr. Don, Rod Roddy etc. etc. etc. WOW! A lot of legendary careers were launched in Georgia. Congratulations GRHOF! All the best!

More than once I have posted on the LA board singing the praises of Drake, Drew and Burkhart. There doesn't seem to be a consultant/programmer today who is in their league. Rod Roddy and Douglas Edwards! I'd say definitely that Georgia deserves a radio hall of fame!

The Georgia Radio Hall Of Fame is not just about honoring Georgia radio's past. It's about today's radio people and stories as well. This fall, we will induct eleven (11) CURRENT Georgia radio people in the Career Achievement category. We celebrate radio Georgia radio past, present, and future. What name comes to your mind? Join the GRHOF today and nominate that person. Voting begins June 1, 2007. www.grhof.com

What do all of these people have in common?

Southside Steve, Bert, Mike Stiles, Melissa Vasqueez, Heather Lynn, Tim Rhodes, Cadillac Jack, Bill Cellar, Randy & Spiff, Chris Rude, Uncle Rich, Bob Bailey, Mark McCain, Steve McCoy, Vickie Locke, Frank Ski, J J Jackson, John Weatherbee, Mara Davis, The Regular Guys, Neil Boortz, Clark Howard, Scott Slade, Kim Petersen, Snake Davis, Ton Hughes, Gary McKee, and on and on and on.

They're all eligible for nomination as 2007 Career Achievement Inductees. Nominate your favorite NOW, by going to wwww.grhof.com, joining, and nominating. Then get set to start voting June 1, 2007

I hope you don't mind me makign a suggestion about the nomination and selection process. When the voting begins in JUne will there be a way to listen to a small sample of a nominee's work? Some of the nominees may be out of the Atlanta market. from other Georgia markets, or from another time period (for example a still living jock from QXI's Top 40 days).

Also how will it work if a personality worked as a team with someone else (Randy & Spiff) for instance? Will they have to be nominated/inducted separately?

And finally can there be a special exception? Based on the sound's historical mainstream importance on the national airwaves, and now on national TV, shouldn't the WSB (which became and still are) the NBC Chimes have a special place in the GRHOF?

Thanks for taking the time to read my questions.

Many Georgia radio veterans will remember Art Godwin. He owned Godwin Record Distributors in Atlanta the 60's, Many dj's went there to get promo 45's for their stations. After a long illness, he died last yesterday. There will be no funeral service.

New at www.grhof.com, an audio tribute to one of our 2007 Legacy Inductees, Hudie Brown (Cuzzin' Al). Join today, nominate a Career Achievement candidate. Voting begins June 1, 2007!

Too cool. Love the Legendary stations!
I'm impressed. Well put together site which seems to be ever evolving. I find something new added everytime I log on. The pics and the info in the ATL Legendary stations is priceless, especially WQXI and WAKE.
